I hate bullpen walks. Just absolutely hate them.

Hinch being smart. I hope it works out for him.

Are those KC uniforms City connect? I love them

Waste his innings in long relief? At least start him and let him go 5 innings or so. Or even as a 3 inning opener. Or Montero from Toledo, he has better stuff than Paddack. Hopefully, Harris isnt tempted to extend him for 2 seasons...
-
Yeah, I would rather see Melton start. At least he has some upside. This clown belongs on team 15 games under .500. Then it would be, who cares? But in a divisional race? Hard pass on that trade, I don't care HOW cheap he was...
-
Last Sunday? We beat them Friday and Saturday. But with Paddack pitching, well, he has over a 4.50 career ERA, in 7 years. It's not a small sample, he is what he will be and always has been. A 5th starter for a team that finishes 20 games out of first. Like Minnesota?

Losing streak and Paddack on the mound. Yeah...
-
I didn't even notice that they were unearned. I guess that's good, but I would rather they won. When Skubal loses a game, our odds of a losing streak skyrocket.

No big name trades or big money free agents. The Lions really have the foundation players we can build around. I think Jaymo will get big money somewhere else if he has a big season. But...still TBD.

For all we know, Harris may have his hands tied by his bosses. I imagine spending a lot of money on salaries has to be approved by whoever is signing the checks. But like I said, it's a business. If he makes the organization a lot of money, he's doing a good job. Winning is sweet but being a contender and making the playoffs is considered successful. Off days stink, especially after losing 4 in a row, which makes it worse. We need to win the KC series this weekend. -

So look at bigger sample sizes of players we got against players that were acquired by other teams. Paddack, for example, isnt going to suddenly be a pitcher with a 3.00 ERA. Career 4.52 ERA is just about what he'll give you. Toss a good game followed by 2 horrible games. Just a 5th starter, at best. -

Having a strong minor league system isnt just to feed the major league team with talent, it's also good to use those players to acquire players to help the major league team. Trading away all the prospects isnt a long term road to success. But hanging onto every single prospect because they may be able to help someday also isnt a good use of minor league talent. Losing stinks, I think we all agree on that. So having players in the minor leagues who may or may not help us in 3 or 4 years seems like wasting the talent we have this year. Once Skubal leaves, we'll wish Harris would have made moves to win this season. -

Again, it doesn't matter. It's way too small of a sample for any players recently traded. Look at career stats, Paddock has over a 4.50 ERA in 111 games. He is what he will be, he's been in the league since 2019. Decent depth but not somebody i would want starting a playoff game. But some people will settle for mediocre. -

I want players who will help us win now, this season. I don't care about a 5th catcher prospect deep in our system, who may never make MLB. And looking at stats of players traded after 2 weeks or so? Maybe that's a small sample size? Stat guys love small sample size....lol -

I agree, I wouldn't want him trading away our top prospects. They're the future of this franchise. That tells a story about what will happen when Riley or Carp get expensive. However, there were several players available who ended up getting traded for non-top prospects. So that really tells fans that maybe trades aren't a strength of Scott Harris? -

If you think I'm the only fan who wasnt/isnt happy with the Tigers hanging onto 7 2nd base prospects instead of bringing in some established quality players, you're mistaken. The players they could have targeted may have been expensive. And I would venture a guess that was the main reason. Heck, we got a Minnesota pitcher with, what, a career 5.00 ERA? And a 41 year old pitcher who was pretty good...5 years ago? And Washington's closer, who seems to be doing a really good job. Bring in enough players and eventually one will pan out. -

He hasn't signed any top tier free agents or made any trades to bring top talent here. I acknowledge that he has certain strengths but I also won't turn a blind eye to his weaknesses. It may be orders from above, none of us know, but trades and free agent signings have been a weakness. Quality players were traded at the deadline without teams giving up their top prospects. The Tigers got leftovers... -

Really? I guess it depends what you consider high dollar contracts. There were a few pitchers signed the last 2 season for what I consider high dollars that were here just long enough to be totally ineffective....Just off the top of my head, we had Maeda, Shelby Miller and John Brebbia. I'm sure if I looked further, there would be a few more. Like I said, sign a dozen players and hope a few stick. Was his best signing Torres? At a position that wasn't an obvious need? And was his signing just something that fell in his lap? It seemed strange at the time, considering we just signed Keith to a long term contract last year and the fact we had 3 other players who could fill in at 2nd base. You know, I get it. The Tigers are a business and they're apparently making money. That's the goal of any business. Winning is nice but in the long run, making money is the goal. And since players contracts are overhead, keeping costs down is a good business decision. -

Looking at the top players on the current team, most of them were drafted or acquired by Al Avila. How many saves did Shelby Miller blow last season? Seven? The Tigers finished 6 games out. How about Maeda? Cobb? And there are probably several more. Harris did acquire McKinstry, but like i said, bring in a dozen players and hope a few will stick. His trades have never amounted to much, his strength is in drafting and developing. -

Several. It's not just not always about money, it's his inability to acquire quality players. Sign a dozen and hope a couple pan out. How many games were the Tigers stuck with Nick Maton at 3rd base? -

Because Harris paid him 15 million $$'s. If they give Cobb 2 or 3 starts and he gets shelled, it would just to be to satisfy Harris' decisions. -

Free runner innings. More LOB runners?

Keith has made 2 misplays today.
