RedRamage
So apparently this is the Texas Rangers City Connect Unis. Reactions to them have been less than favorable. Personally, I think they're kinda cool. That said they are SO different from the standard I could see why some people don't like 'em. Motor City Sonics
Those aren't even good shuffleboard uniforms. Who came up with this? Fire them now.
Jim Cowan
I just don't get the point of this. More merch obviously, but what is "city connect" supposed to mean?

You answered your own question. It’s just more merch. The NBA does it. I think the NHL does it. I don’t think the NFL does it (yet).
Jim Cowan
Yeah but "city connect"? WTF
casimir
Just now, Jim Cowan said: Yeah but "city connect"? WTF The NBA has city edition. So MLB had to come up with something slightly different. The Pistons had 5 different jersey sets this season. Traditional home whites and road blues. They brought back the teal things. They also had a green set as a nod to an old gym (St Cecilia) where some of the players would play pickup games back in previous years. And because that wasn’t enough, they had a ball set with a blue and red stripe which was reminiscent of the Bad Boys. Because, hey, why not? Heck, they might as well bring back red set and the burgundy set so they have a set for every day of the week. More merch baby.
chasfh
White jerseys on black pants make them look like amateurs.
Tenacious D
I like the concept, and there have been a few executions I've enjoyed. Looking forward to what the Tigers do and just hope they don't F it up (like the Rangers did above). Would be cool to see a Motown or Motor City version. Just no teal, please. romad1
I just hope their idea of a City Connect uniform doesn't include gambling company logos.

The thing is just named to highlight some different type of uniforms. Again, part to appeal to the younger gens. We saw one this year when the Astros wore their "space city" uniforms. RandyMarsh
If they want to tap into Detroit/ Michigan the Tigers should just be solid orange with white lettering, belt and socks so they look like a construction barrell. 1

RandyMarsh
Btw I like some of them and have no problem with the idea. Yeah old timers like most of us and traditionalists may not like it but like KL2 said it's for the younger generation and anything that can possibly help attract or appeal to younger fans Im for. tiger2022
The traditional Tigers road uniforms with Detroit in block letters are one of my favorites. I think the Spanish Tigres uniforms are pretty cool.
chasfh
I’m guessing ours will have some combination of Detroit skyline and cars.
