It's not linear, but I do not believe they will get off to the slow starts they did each of the last two seasons. I have them going 6-2 into the bye week and building from there to get to 12 wins. I should be more pessimistic after 36 years on this Earth of getting the rug pulled out from under me every time I have believed in this team. But you can't compare prior regimes and teams to what is presently on the field and who is presently running the organization. What Sheila Ford-Hamp, Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, and co. doing genuinely looks and feels different than what we have ever seen in the past. This isn't the 11-5 Lions about to turn around and lay an egg the next year by going 4-12. This is a team that has made meaningful and significant offseason improvements. Improvements that will allow them to substantially build on what they did last year down the stretch. I had the Jets at 12-5 and their season went down game one, minute one. Also my NFC South predictions were waaaaay off base too. And while they blew the Lions game and it will be remembered, it only cost them a regular season game.
