oblong Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Looking at their schedule and results on their BR page.... I forgot they started 2-9. then they were 1-11 to start June. That means.... they were..... 71-63 in the other games 😉 Of course every team can do that game so it doesn't mean anything concrete but I think the team is on the upslope. The only reason I point that out is I felt like they could win every game. They were not outmatched and had the players. Not a good team but not a bad one either. It wouldn't take much of a change for htem to lose a game... or win one. But this is the easy part of a rebuild and it's years in the making so it's almost a requirement to get here and to not be here would be blatant disregard of duty. Quote

I agree that kind of selective exclusion of games doesn't mean anything. However, I think in comparing this team to 2021 when they had a similar season in terms of wins and losses, this year was more encouraging. There was a lot of luck in 2021. This year, I believe it was real progress. 3 Quote

But there is still much work to be done. Quote

Toddwert Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 awesome moment for Miggy too bad I have to hear the two dill weeds calling it on TV Quote
MIguy Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Cool that it hit the wall and bounced back into play so Miggy can keep what is most likely his last home run ball, but I really hope fixing that wall is part of the upgrades they mentioned a couple weeks ago. Quote

I don’t know what there is to fix. If they make the wall shorter then you’d have to do massive structural changes to the seating area in RF. Behind that wall is a concrete barrier and that’s the base of the steps and seating base. Quote
AZTigersfan Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Man Tork just isn’t going to make it to 30 is he? Some bad ABs these past couple weeks. Quote
oblong Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 The changes they talk about are most likely what they refer to as “enhancing the fan experiences “ which means a corporate sponsored area that will involve fans spending more money. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I would say that it's the last Miggy HR, but I have a feeling on Sunday a Cleveland pitcher is going to intentionally serve one up (like McLain to Mantle in '68). Quote
Tigermojo Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Maybe it won't count. Looks like the rain isn't stopping. Quote

If they removed removed the cutout in right centerfield and just made it a straight shot, they could add 4 rows of seats and match everything up to the existing structure. Quote
Tigermojo Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Ibanez is their best hitter in September. Quote
Tigermojo Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Nevin squeezed it into the corner Quote
chasfh Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 If Miggy can manage to jack two more bombs, then he would have the most career home runs of anyone who has ever played for the Tigers. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Nevin with a big fly. I love it. But....not a fan of those flashing lights...can't stand them really. But prolly here to stay, until they get sued. Quote
Tigermojo Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I read they changed the rules in 2020. They game will resume where they left it, they will not start over. Miggy's HR will count. Quote
MIguy Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Yeah, this game doesn't count if it gets postponed and they would start over tomorrow. Quote
