The documentary released today on Prime. I’m only about 20 minutes in but I hope the next documentary about the Lions involves less dumping on the city and team.

Scott Mitchell didn't like it...........   REALLY didn't like it.      

 

In fairness Mitchell had a couple of really good years statistically, but he was never a leader and the last couple of years he was afraid to get hit (as big as he was)

barry seems like a good guy, which is nice to see.

Well, when members of your line admit that they let the defense get through just so they could sack you, one might be justified in being afraid.

just saw it last night; well done; Scott Mitchell never mentioned by name, not sure what he's bitching about; no mention of Eric Andolsek, though they did discuss Utley and Brown's injuries.

only complaints: they skimmed over the fact the Lions were not a good organization; obvi so much more to it than just that

and they put in a weird conversation Fontes and Barry had recently on Ford Field sideline, where Fontes said Joe Montana wanted to come to Det and Wayne said they should go after Warren Moon, but management was not interested in either guy. Fontes is the most unreliable of any unreliable narrator, and surprised they put his BS in.

they also made it seem like the lions were actual contenders if only kevin glover, lomas brown, chris spielman, etc had stayed.  ummm...no.  they were not when they left and giving all those guys big bags of money wouldnt have changed that.

the larger point is that the lions were a **** organization.

Hanging onto that guy for as long as they did was just another example of bungling ineptitude by that front office.

The Lions had 2 opportunities to hire Pete Carroll in the 90s

I finished all but 12 minutes of it and have a couple thoughts:

1. I was pretty mad about the way that Barry went about retiring. In hindsight, I get it. Barry being Barry. That said, if he was afraid to tell his dad, that should have been a sign to do it in a more professional manner.

2. Wayne Fontes looks like the walking dead.

3. I laughed that Herman Moore has the shoes and Barry has no idea where they are.
