Here it is if you want to listen to it.  Leave it to a comedian to summarize so well.  This should be our newscasters.  A Cronkite.  The first 6 minutes or so.

thank you for this. reminds me of this:

The amount of WRONG-doing in this sentence is stunning.

Where does the executive branch of the government get off thinking that THEY can INSTRUCT any person in the judiciary to do their bidding?

Separation of powers is the absolute construct for a reason.

As strange as it may sound, it's actually legal.  These judges fall under the executive branch, they are not part of the "independent judiciary".

Ok, read the article so now I understand the distinction, however it doesn’t seem to pass the “smell” test, don’t you think?
Why even bother with this step at all?

Seems like no legal recourse at all for the immigrants.

I said it was scummy but they're going to use every trick in the book to remove people from the county.

It's about creating a theat (illegal immigrants) to hide the real threat (oligarchy).

There is an obvious symmetry staring us in the face that we Americans simply refuse to acknowledge, which is that in the 17th and 18th centuries we solved the problem of supplying labor to industries that did not want to pay fair wages by simply enslaving people, which from an economic standpoint is only a step or two different from exactly what we are doing today - bringing people into the economy without legal rights so they can be paid less than citizen rate wages. Illegal immigration is providing the same economic benefit to the economy that slavery did and for the same reasons. We now give the person individual freedom which is certain the first step in the right direction, but maintain a depressing similar system of economic exploitation.

How is "But food will cost more!" any better moral justification for living better at the expense of someone else's human rights than it was in 1860?

The Trump Crime Family is now in the cell phone business.

I'm old enough to remember when Republicans lost their peanuts over brother Billie's Beer. And made President Jimmy sell his farm.

How is this different than the freedom phone which is a $150 Chinese Android they install right wing apps and a flag wallpaper and re-sell for $500?

... The situation in American immigration has been created by American Business interests... We could have an orderly immigration and naturalization system but for the greed of American Business that doesn't want to pay the wages that people with rights would command. This truth cannot be shouted enough times from enough rooftops. It is, was, and continues to be a foundational lie of GOP politics.

Lot of good points/ posts in Politics this morning...

I especially like, and am aggravated (constantly), by the Republican Guilty Party bolded part.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

True. The article also suggests that there is disagreement over whether or not it is legal-and that it's taking time away from focusing on real security risks.

...which is why people are protesting. It isn't just people 'from the left' either.

And if you yourself say that it is scummy, then I'm surprised that you still seem to support it.

Rules are rules, no sense in getting upset now.  People should have thought of all this before voting for a stupid convicted felon, voting third party, or not voting at all.   Guess them protest votes were a bad idea after all, huh?

Rules are rules for those who make the rules or those who pay them to make the rules.

No idea what that has to do with anything, but okay.  Thing is, many of the same people complaining now about all the obvious and blatant BS going on under Trump are the same people who threw a fit and didn't vote for Harris.

I'm pretty sure everyone currently commenting in this thread voted for Harris.  The only exception might be Trump loving Tigeraholic and he hasn't been around much lately.
