Under a normal administration this wouldn’t be an issue. 

Trump will say he got him fired, but Trump always takes credit for stuff he has nothing to do with.  Maybe this is over the merger, but Trump already got his pound of flesh with 60 minutes.  Even if Kamala would have won, the networks would have had to make a tough decision on how they handle late night TV between the salaries they are paying and the fact that ratings have consistently dropped over the hey day of late night TV many years ago.  I wouldn't be surprised if Kimmel is next and that simply has to do with the fact that his contract is up.  His only saving grace may be that Colbert is gone.

I think they might be getting to the point where they have to release something, because it’s simply gotten way too loud. The three main issues to navigate that I can see when they do get released will be (1) expurgations, meaning large chunks of the files not getting released with the rest; (2) selective redactions, meaning naming some names and redacting others; and (3) fraud; meaning authorship of additional text not in the originals and/or alterations of original text within.

CBS Reportedly Lost $40 Million on Colbert’s Late Show This Year

Sources inside CBS have suddenly become much more forthcoming about the sobering economics of late-night television in 2025—go figure— revealing that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has recently been running at an annual shortfall of $40 million.

If that sounds unthinkable for the #1 rated show at 11:35pm, consider this: as Matt Belloni reports today in Puck, back in 2018, all of late-night television combined generated $438 million in advertising revenue. By 2023, that number had been cut in half, and it has continued to fall.

Given that The Late Show—with its handsomely paid host and a staff of roughly 200 employees—reportedly costs CBS $100 million per year to produce, that $40 million figure becomes easier to understand.

I was watching a Netflix doc on the Oklahoma City bombing and it was chilling to sort of see the beginning of this **** show. Of course it was originally blamed on Muslim terrorists.

Unfortunately I do know that many of them are like that. I also know people who share memes of Drumpf's kindness to certain of his employees, of him praying-things like that. You and I both know that these things either aren't real or came with strings attached in some way. Others take it at face value.

Even though I know you're right, I still don't get it. I hope I never do...

Even though I know you're right, I still don't get it. I hope I never do...

He has extremely low self-esteem. He masks that by being larger than life and never admitting any wrongdoing. He gets his self-esteem from his public persona. How people view him is very important to him. If people react negatively towards him, he twists reality around by claiming Trump derangement syndrome or he has huge crowds etc.

Some don't care.  There are others who just don't know.  Most of the stories of him being a sexual predator originated long before 2016 and they were not paying attention to Trump at the time.  So, they assume the accusations are politically motivated.  Personally, I have assumed he was a predator for over 40 years.  That is why he bought all the beauty pageants and why he was always at the playboy mansion.
