Speaking of Kentucky, I really wanted Beshear to run for senate. McConnell is retiring so it's an open seat. It's in a non presidential year so there won't be the Trump turnout. Dems are way over performing, this is shaping up to be a good year for dems. Beshear is one of the most popular governors in the country. He's won multiple statewide elections. If there was ever an opportunity to steal a senate seat in Kentucky, now is the time. If it's ever going to happen, this is the time for it to happen.

Massie ran unopposed last election. When he has been opposed, it's been an R+30 district. At best you probably get it R+15 which can still have its benefits but I wouldn't get my hopes up of flipping that seat.

I think he's aiming higher than that.  And he should.   He'd have a shot.        Beshear,  Mark Kelly.   I was kind of hoping for  Wes Moore, but he's out.  

I used to worry about Gavin Newsom because he's kind of the extreme choice, but actually I think we need that.   Might actually inspire people.  He's willing to mock them and throw the **** back in their faces and not play nice.   We need more of that.   I wish Bernie was younger.   

As much as I think Gretch would make a good President, this country won't vote for a woman for President.  They just won't.

Granted, every person is uinque, but still - I have a hard time seeing a guy who already worked his way through and clear of the justice system once being that despondent over getting busted.

I realize you all aren't following the nuance here.  It appears that even those who love the US abroad are very worried that the US is no longer reliable.  

I spend my weekends listening to WWII podcasts in which the British and the American podcasters are weepy about the special relationship.  Its a huge shift and its all caused by Trump and his enabling weirdos.

Only argument I have here is your wording of 'it appears'.  That statement was probably correct around 8 months ago.  Today they are very worried and many of them are already preparing for such a world.  I am still confident we'll get past Trump, but even with a coordinated effort by all sides to repair the foreign policy damage he's done, I'm not sure what'll happen on that front.

The JD Vance speech last year was the thud.  The Mark Carney speech was the response.   MAGA has sown the wind.   Rubio's speech was the attempt to sell the same JD Vance crap in a nicer package.
