I worked this selection process inside the bowels of the Pentagon.  There were some insane submissions.   Some really effective solutions and some involving things that would seem too fantastic for the Frank Herbert "Dune" series. 

As part of that I went out to Nevada Test Site and got a look at some of the tests.   Fun stuff.  Although Las Vegas, for work, by yourself is kinda depressing.

I think this describes a lot of MAGA. 

I think this is driven by the combination of FOMO coupled to a lack of intellectual time/energy to spend the time parsing though complex syntax to see if there is actually anything there. The short version would be - "I don't know if any of that make sense and it's too much work to figure out exactly what if anything it all means,  but if I don't get on board I may miss something."

The real problem is when the people spewing it believe there is something to what they are saying when there actually isn't, when the concepts fall apart as soon as they are pushed into clear light.

I want critical thinkers in my employ but often its easier to employ yes-men.   

I was once counseled by a senior VP that my best bet is just to smile and not let people know what I think.  Mastering the zen of that is the key to getting ahead.  

One of the bull****tier things in our modern society is the "we have a startup mentality here" to enable the bosses to abuse their employees.

So funny how we have moved beyond the idea that Trump should suffer any recriminations for lying about the existence of negotiations as a tool to both pump up his base and pump up the stock market.

Who is we? I have moved past the idea that he will ever suffer any recriminations, but certainly have not moved byond the idea that he SHOULD face recriminations.
