You seem to have relevant facts and information that would seemingly justify it or at least mitigate the act of an extra-judicial killing by the sworn law enforcement in Madison, WI. Go for it. 1 Quote

Footage circulating online shows a police officer recovering a large knife and tossing it away from the body following the shooting. Why are you posting random tweets—or whatever they're called— without any real understanding of the actual events that took place? Edited July 23 by GalagaGuy Quote

At the same time, we've also seen plenty of instances where the internet mob jumps to conclusions, ignoring the facts and evidence, simply because they want the next thing to be outraged over. That's all Democrats need right now, burning down a city in defense of a career criminal that pulled a knife on police while resisting arrest. That'll surely help win the mid-terms. Quote

But that was the thing, GHWB was a poor retail politician, both because he was dumb enough to utter a line like 'no new taxes', but also because if he had gone out and campaigned hard on having balanced the budget I think he could have diffused the tax critique. However, old patrician that he was, he felt it only proper to let other people praise him, but enough the GOP was already going the other way that wasn't going to happen! I’d also argue he peaked early but not because he “came down” but he prevented some others from running like Cuomo and they let Clinton sneak in. Bush’s campaign staff didn’t help either. I voted for Clinton in ‘92. That was the only time in my voting life I was ever happy on election night. Quote

I wasn't that big a fan of Dole but I never liked Clinton at all. Still I knew I was voting for the loser in '96. Dole's rough voice and the stiff arm worked against him in what was already a "how do you look in the TeeVee" political system. Quote
oblong Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I knew Dole would lose and I voted for him simply because of his WWII service. I was a right winger by that point in time but I also strongly considered the libertarian guy, that’s how far I went. But I thought a candidate who lost the use of his arm fighting in the war deserved an extra tick by his name. Bush’s wins weren’t known on election night. I wasn’t disappointed by Obama win in 08 because it was a forgone conclusion. In 2012 I expected a close race due to the internet bubble I was in but they called PA at like 8:01 pm and I knew it was over. In ‘16 and ‘24 I went to bed hoping for a miracle. Quote
Tiger337 Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I never voted for Clinton either. I was apolitical in those days, but he always seemed creepy - the same kind of creepy as Trump, but not nearly as severe. As least Clinton was smart. I voted for Ross Perot because I thought he was hilarious. Not intentonally hilarious, but hilarious. Quote

I remember watching Rush Limbaugh that day of the Dole election he had some TV camera feed or something and he kept pretending that the votes were going Dole's way. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Dude runs from police, starts fighting with police, pulls a knife, slices an officer, gets shot and the far left is outraged because apparently the officers didn't say "please sir, may we hold onto your knife while we have a conversation?" Quote

I’ll admit to knowing nothing about police training but I’d be very surprised if it’s acceptable protocol for the officer to fire his weapon in the direction of another officer who’s just a foot away from the suspect. I also don’t understand firing a taser and then immediately shooting before any chance of that taking effect. It looked like the taser did its job and he was falling to the ground before the cop chose to execute him. Edited July 23 by Hongbit Quote
Motown Bombers Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I don't know how anyone can watch that video and come away on the cops side. Guy was on the ground after being tased and the cop just fired multiples rounds into him and goes about his business like nothing happened. 1 Quote
