When I first saw the link, I immediately thought it was 1875 just as you did, but when I clicked on the box score and I saw Don Kessinger I did a double take, and read it correctly.

Old Hoss pitched in the 600 inning era. Over 2 seasons (1883-4) he started 141 games, completing 139. He went 108-37. In total he won 300+ games in 11 seasons. I also heard he was an excellent bowler and was the first riverdance phenom

Warren Schaeffer will be the “interim” manager. He’s been in the Rockies organization for years. He was managing the Asheville Tourists years back when we saw them play and they were affiliated with Colorado. He played for Asheville prior to getting into coaching. He may work out to be a good choice. 
I agree with what Dave Roberts said in defense of Black upon his firing, (paraphrasing) ‘Casey Stengal couldn’t make this team a winner.’
