So I guess I’m the only loser on Halloween night watching the World Series.  All of the rest of you are getting drunk or high at adult themed Halloween parties or taking your children trick-or-treating because you’re wholesome types.

I’m watching. Most people on this side of the border are.

That was a hopeful, but in the end, disappointing, bottom of the eighth thinning for the Jay’s. Even the ump calling balls on low strikes wasn’t enough to push them over the edge and score some runs.

Toronto pulled a Tiger finish. Threaten but Do Not Score. 9th inning..2nd and 3rd with no outs. Pop-up and a flyball double play. Toronto loses 3-1.

1st and 2nd in the 6th. On 2nd in the 7th. 1st and 2nd one out in the 8th. 2nd and 3rd none outs in the 9th. But no runs since the 3rd.

I assume that Ohtani will do crazy things tomorrow and win it for LA.

And Kershaw may not have thrown his final pitch after all. And Glasnow only pitched 3 pitches today.

MLB prolly happy as all get out. I wonder how much money they make for each playoff game...... Let alone a game 7 in the World Series. We probably just added at least $150 million to MLB's coffers by goin to game 7..... Sheeeeeeesh.

My hypothesis here on Saturday morning is that Ohtani will start the game for the Dodgers, go one time through the order, then they bring Glasnow back in for what they hope is the rest of the game. And if Glasnow gets in trouble late, maybe they bring in Snell for the ninth. Point being, Dodgers will want to avoid bringing in their bullpen as much as possible.

And then, win or lose, the main thing we’re going to hear all winter is, how are the mighty Dodgers going to fix their bullpen?

EDIT: And then I find an article filed overnight contemplating that very thing:

https://www.mlb.com/news/shohei-ohtani-world-series-game-7-2025-pitching-role

Looks like everybody was thinking the same thing.

So much for clairvoyance. 🤡

I am intrigued at Scherzer starting game 7.  Towards the end of his career.  A true empty the tank game.  The way he gently asked his manager why the 67 he came out to his mound earlier this postseason.  Give me that.

Oh, and yeah, the first batter of the game will be Ohtani?

I feel fully confident in saying that this will go down as one of the Game 7s of all time.

Saturday night.  Flip the clocks back an hour.  I got time for 19 innings.
