A lot of hits just fell and the Red Sox played crappy. Can’t expect that for the next two games. And tomorrow pitching chaos and it makes me sort of sentimental. Quote
SoCalTiger Posted yesterday at 01:57 AM Posted yesterday at 01:57 AM Watching this wonderful game I can’t help but think how Bregman and Detroit would both be so much better off if they could have made a deal. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM (edited) Quote Wow..yeah, he is a kid... Tons of talent, but not really ready - not as ready as JV was, or Skenes was last season,, but as long as he's good enough around the walks and mistakes to keep them in games, taking the shot at the draft reward not a bad play - I have to think that's most of the reason he is here. papalawrence Posted yesterday at 03:31 AM Posted yesterday at 03:31 AM His ball was very electric today. It's easy to see the elite stuff. But yeah, he needs work on command Quote

The “official” definition is two-fold: (1) Two or more errors on the play; and (2) batter scores on the play. Edited 21 hours ago by chasfh Quote

You’re probably right, but part of me also wonders whether Bregman would have negatively affected the bonhomie in the clubhouse, not because I think he’s a bad guy necessarily, but injecting a new highly-paid mercenary into a clubhouse full of kids learning how to be big leaguers all together would definitely have shifted the vibe, and who knows whether for the better or the worse. 1 Quote

I think the other reason Jobe’s here is because at a certain point, a kid can’t learn anything more from mowing down AAA hitters, and has got to either sink or swim at the big league level. Quote

This has always been my opinion for this season. With the smaller amount of minor league teams you don't see as many older quality 4a types in AAA. Because of that the amount of hitters that work pitchers is limited and frankly that's Jobe's problem. He does a good job of getting ahead of hitters but then struggles to put hitters away and they are driving up pitch count and working long walks. He will be fine in the long run as he has short stints in almost all of his starts where he looks dominant. Quote
