IdahoBert Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I will not believe any of this until it’s confirmed on the tigers mlb.com site or by someone on Mlive with a handle like “LadiesMan69“ Quote
Edman85 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 43 minutes ago, Tigermojo said: Maeda and Margot made it 38. Foley could go on the 60 day IL for another spot. Major League 60 Day IL would mean he accrues service time unnecessarily. Without a roster crunch at the moment, there's no need to do this. Baddoo makes it 39. When Rogers comes back, Nido is out of options and it will be back to 38. You still have Matt Manning in the wilderness begging for a DFA... One downside, in addition to the service time, is some time on the Major League IL this year would force the Tigers to put Foley on the Major League IL next year if he is still recovering in spring training. Minor League 60 Day IL makes you not count against the 165 Man Reserve Limit. I've got that around 163 right now... but you can only put 15 guys on that list across the stateside teams and they are at 9. For players who are definitely out for the year with major injury/surgery, there's the Full-Season list, but you are limited on what workouts you can do with the team in that time, so you have to be careful there if he's going to be working back in September. The Full Season List does not count against the 165, nor the 15 guy limit. You still count against the 40-man, though. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 14 Posted May 14 After an article on MLB about Javy’s resurgence was an article where 17 unnamed “baseball execs” were asked a variety of questions and not a single one thought the Tigers were the best team in the AL with 13 votes going to the Yankees and four to the Red Sox. The suits are unimpressed with what the Tigers are doing. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-executives-on-teams-off-to-fast-starts-in-2025?partnerID=mlbapp-iOS_article-share Quote

Possibly to be replaced in future years by some hybrid clothing item that includes the warmth of a sweater and a zipper that goes halfway down Quote

This could be one of those 'be careful what you wish for call-ups' as in "this may be the last look you are going to get" - or they just want to catch a wave. He is on a hot streak with 5 HR in his last 36 AB, which is great, but also 12 K in that same 36 AB. Quote

Foley is still on the 7 day IL. Yeah with how this is going down, we basically gain an extra service year of Foley—assuming he can come back from this surgery. Quote

IdahoBert Posted May 14 Posted May 14 It just seems too good to be true that the Tigers could sweep this series with a W tonight. They should be able to do it. They have shown every inclination and ability to do it and they blew the Red Sox away in game one and repeatedly came back last night and they have the best pitcher in baseball going for them tonight. But once again, it just seems too good to be true. How can they keep dominating and coming back without a stagger? You can’t win all the games, but there’s always hope so… Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 14 Posted May 14 On the pregame show, the graphic says that Skubal‘s ERA is 3.08 when it’s actually 2.08. They need to fire the unpaid AI intern. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Also, most of the ads they’re showing so far indicate their viewership is made up of hard-core super athletes striving to be better. I had no idea that couch potato spectators were so active. Quote

monkeytargets39 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 (edited) It’d probably help if someone pissed of Skubal before the game rather than waiting for him to get mad at something after it starts Edited May 14 by monkeytargets39 Quote
