CMRivdogs Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 I had a puggle (pug/beagle) like that. No real desire to chase the ball. We ended up as the only ones at the local dog park. I threw the ball once, she brought it back. Threw it again and she chased it. On the third throw she looked at me with that 13 year old TTF look.. It's pretty much the same with the current pup (she's almost 9). No desire to chase balls. Cheez-Its however.... Quote

They may go get a ball once, after that it's "I brought it back for you once, why did you lose it again?" or they go get it and just keep it so you can't lose it again. I think whomever owned her before meleft her outside all the time but not have played ball with her. She just doesn't know how to do it. Quote

Wonderful! Hopefully you have many happy years together. 1 Quote

Posing for pictures. Is she better at typing than you? Best of luck with everything and glad she lets you stay in her house. 2 Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 The best part of my day is when I come home and she comes outside, immediately runs over and jumps on that patio chair and waits for me and then gives me a great big hug. Even though I really love my job and rarely come home in a bad mood, but it just makes everything okay for a little bit. 3 Quote

Biff Mayhem Posted May 28 Posted May 28 We adopted panther siblings last year and I cannot believe I neglected to share that here. The girl has Batman ears and the boy is as handsome as he is dumb. 6 Quote

IdahoBert Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I learned the hard way though that you have to keep all the bathroom doors shut. 5 Quote

I had a cat who would do this until probably his mid-teens. could not leave the stuff out (and keeping the bathroom closed wasn't a good option, either). 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Doing another family related pet-sitting, this time with our 14-year-old family terrier Dino. Dino was found roaming the streets of Oakland, California 14 years ago and ended up being shipped to the Humane Society in Boise, Idaho, where our family adopted him. We think he’s half blind and he’s 98 years old in dog years bordering on senescence, but he actually takes the time to stop and smell the flowers every day. He just sticks his face in there and sniffs. It’s really quite fetching. 6 Quote
Biff Mayhem Posted May 31 Posted May 31 And here is our calico. She is thankful that there is a day game because this can be a hours long position. 3 Quote
