However, when they do, it’s exciting, but I doubt anyone can reliably predict who it’s going to be. That’s why you collect as many as you can. I think some guys are underrated because they don't play a premium position, or all they do is hit. Gimme hitters, please! Quote

NateCornejo4life Posted Sunday at 06:46 PM Posted Sunday at 06:46 PM Microline, other than his defensive shortcomings, why do you believe Briceño is overrated? His stats, given his age are impressive. Just curious. Quote

The prospect rankings have a great deal of uncertainty and I think they sometimes copy each other. I put "highly" overrated in quotes for a reason. It's one thing to call a prospect overrated. If you put "highly" in there I would expect some reasoning. Since the AZ Fall league he's hit 25 HR in ~280 at-bats. Quote

Underrated overrated, it doesn’t really matter because any analysis is just a point in time along the development curve, and no one really knows how much anyone is going to progress and develop and adapt. It’s just a guess, some more educated than others. 2 1 Quote

IB/Dh with little positional value on a team with Carp, Tork, JHen shouldn’t be viewed as an untouchable in trades for an impact player. That’s my interpretation that we should be ok, even though a lot will overreact. Edited 12 hours ago by Hinchman11 Quote

RatkoVarda Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago ESPN today But Skenes is a pitcher -- and pitchers get hurt. So, if the Pirates are open to listening ... Offer No. 1: New York Mets offer SS/CF Jett Williams (No. 20), RHP Jonah Tong (No. 50), RHP Nolan McLean, IF Ronny Mauricio, OF Carson Benge Offer No. 2: Los Angeles Dodgers offer C/OF Dalton Rushing (No. 14), OF Josue De Paula (No. 17), IF Alex Freeland, RHP Emmet Sheehan, LHP Jackson Ferris Offer No. 3: Detroit Tigers offer OF Max Clark (No. 8), SS Kevin McGonigle (No. 11), RHP Jackson Jobe, IF Colt Keith, RHP Sawyer Gipson-Long The one that could get it done: Tigers. A playoff rotation with Skenes and Tarik Skubal? Thank you very much. Reminder: The Tigers haven't won the World Series since 1984. 2 Quote
RatkoVarda Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I think that is more than DD gave up for Miggy who is an everyday player. 2 top 10 prospects; a cost controlled player; a 2027 wildcard in Jobe; and a developmental success story in SGL Quote
CMU97 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago A while back when this came up I said I wouldn't trade Max Clark straight up for Paul Skenes. That still stands. Quote
