I cant remember the last time I watched.  I used to like watching the games when the leagues were more separate, but now I just don't care.  I followed the boxscore throughout the night to see how the Tigers were doing.

During the 70s the all-star game was as big as Christmas for me. I remember Fidrych starting the game in '76. Leflore and Staub were also in that game. I agree that interleague play has taken away a lot of its luster

I don't really care how they ended the game after 9.  I didn't last that long anyway.

Was it just me or were the commercial time outs in between innings and pitching changes about double in length from a regular season game?  Good grief, that annoyed me.

I did notice that in the truck commercial they kept showing that one of the good old boys with a truck had a Tigers cap on.

It turns out that the NL actually did win this wiffle ball d*ck measuring contest.

Old guy moment..... They ruined the All-Star game the same way the ruined the HR Derby.

Before and after becoming an old guy, I have never found the HR derby to be the least bit entertaining.

And I can’t even recall the last time I watched an AS Game.

I use to LOVE the all-star game but as many have said, it has lost it's luster with the amount of interleague we play now.  Jonas brothers mid game song - worthless waste of time.  I could not believe all that EXTRA CRAP going on as they were introducing the teams and especially the starting line ups.  Total BS.  Manfred should be ashamed and embarrassed.

Just struck me how many All-Star position players were once Cubs prospects.  Eight in total and one even plays for the Cubs.   Move Javy back to short and they have the field covered.

By the joviality of the players during the home run derby finish, it was evident that they don’t take this game too seriously, that it is merely an exhibition game, and that there’s no real skin in this game. The idea of deciding something like this in such a casual manner, appalled me. But in point of fact, it’s pretty insignificant.

My son who is 50 years younger than me told me to lighten up, that it was “fun.” I just remember when the All-Star Game was as serious as war, when important stakes were involved, and it wasn’t merely “fun.“. Heck, it might as well just be a wrestling match. I guess my son is right, and it is just a wrestling match.

I watched the first couple of derbys out of curiousity. The concept was OK but I thought it was poorly exceuted.  It lasted way too long for glorified batting practice.
