Dude is a stud Nick Kurtz College, Fall & Minor Leagues Statistics | Baseball-Reference.com https://share.google/BODDMh8TLFDNonwYF It's hilarious seeing all these naysayers. 22 years old and has 23 homers in 215 at bats. That's in Ruth territory. Yeah, I know the sample size and remember Spencer NY Yankee did a litte similar but smaller sample size years ago. I can't remember a rookie like this. Doing what he's doing. Nayyyy all you want Quote
papalawrence Posted July 27 Posted July 27 AZ is next, then Philly. This is it. Turn it around, or historic collapse Quote

GalagaGuy Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Kind of messed up that we're getting the Dodgers vs Red Sox in the Metro Detroit area on Fox instead of Royals vs Guardians. Quote
tiger2022 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 (edited) Aaron Judge, Pete Alonso, and Mark McGwire had amazing rookie years. Kurtz will be a perennial MVP candidate. Even though the Tigers are in 1st right now and the A's are 20 games under .500, I would take their roster in a heartbeat. If they get some pitching, they are going to be in business. SoCalTiger Posted July 27 Posted July 27 60 - 46 is a bloody good record. It will correct back. We’re winning this division ladies and gentlemen. Hang tough. 2 Quote

IdahoBert Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I can’t believe that what we’ve seen the last 13 games is more indicative than what we saw for the last 120. But I don’t have an explanation for why the pitching and hitting have both collapsed simultaneously. We just have to trust that people at the helm in the front office, in the dugout, and on the field can deal with this. There’s little choice in this matter anyway. As Edward R. Murrow famously ended his broadcasts during the dark days of WWII, “Good night, and good luck." Quote
papalawrence Posted July 27 Posted July 27 At this time the Tigers have the 8th best record in mlb and even winning the division would play in the wild card round. Steep fall Quote

papalawrence Posted July 27 Posted July 27 There are a half dozen stats from that game where no other player in history can check them all off for their career. He checked them all in one game! My vote for best game by rookie ever. Maybe best game for a player ever. As for best rookie seasons there are a few that stand out - like Williams, Pujols, DiMaggio, McGwire, Judge, Alonso, FRobby, Walt Dropo, Fred Lynn (and others).....and can't forget Fidrych and Fernando. Kurtz is on pace for a similar year. Could get to 40 HR (and had 16 this year in the minors). He has the look of a stud. 1 Quote

A kid that young and you know will still grow. He could put up a similar career path as Judge. Maybe better. I could say to draft guys like that but this guy is a once in a decade( at least) type. Can't believe he didn't go #1. 1 Quote

papalawrence Posted Monday at 02:11 AM Posted Monday at 02:11 AM Shawn Green had a 6-6, 4 HR, 7 RBI and 19 total bases game, and who remembers Fred Lynn's 3 HR, 5-hit, 10 RBI game vs the Tigers. There have been several crazy games. I remember reading on the back of a baseball card that Cesar Gutierrez went 7-7 for the Tigers in an extra inning game Quote
