chasfh Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Beautiful win. Needed to have it when it was looking a little shaky there. I don’t think it’s too much to ask that we sweep a team that’s given up on he season, and at home. Quote
lordstanley Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) Tigers win! 1:58 time of game. 6-2 in past 8 after the 1-12 stretch. Unlikely to gain ground on Cleveland or Houston who are both winning big, but KC is losing big and Toronto begins shortly. Update: Mets have just scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th after the Guardians scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th, so it's 5-3 with plenty of ball left to play. Sports_Freak Posted August 5 Posted August 5 What's worse, Johnny Kane's moronic giggles or Todd Jones' stutters? The Tigers need new post game show hosts. Those guys are unwatchable. 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) Tigers have averaged 6.4 runs scored the past 8 games and have scored 6 or more runs in 6 of those 8 games. Last night’s shutout was the outlier. Edited August 5 by lordstanley Quote

The funny thing is he is known for certain expressions, but he really didn't use them that often. He kept repeating them at the end because new fans wanted to hear them, but in his prime, he picked his spots. This is true. The only hook I think Ernie did use a lot was where the fan that caught the ball was from. He was pretty sparing with all the rest of them, so you were always surprised and reminded at the same time. 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) I like this deeper pitching staff. Now if Riley could just get a clue of what he is swinging at. He's really lost right now. It's looking to me like he is trying to level out the swing some, but as we know, doing that on the fly during the season is no easy task. Also am realizing how much more I enjoy the games with Dirks. Petry is a great guy, I just gotten to where I don't like listening to him do a broadcast any more. GalagaGuy Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Guardians blew a 5-0 lead and just had the go ahead run at third in the ninth and didn't score. Mets batting in the bottom of the ninth. Quote
holygoat Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Mets load the bases with one out and can't score in the bottom of the 9th. Quote
