Fell asleep and awoke to a nice surprise this morning (the comeback win I mean 😀).  I do hope this means something for sure, but there have been other games recently where I thought maybe a corner had been turned.
 

This team keeps luring me back though . I guess I’ll be cautiously optimistic, because I wanna try to maintain an emotional balance so I can hopefully avoid despondency.

Earlier in the day this person posted on Bsky that she was going to burn an aromatherapy candle for Riley Greene and that if he busted out of his slump it would be a slump buster.  The person happened to be a trans girl combined with the notion known of so long in the male locker room of a "slump buster" (i.e., girl, possibly ugly or below your standards, you sleep with to get out of a "slump").  

The implication is that he did bust out of his slump, and to explain the joke for you guys even further the humor i saw in this was that - correlation does not equal causality but it is funny to imply it does - she was offering to be his slump buster.

I like reels. Of all the silly social media things that are pushed on me, reels seems to get me more than any of them.  I still don't really know what tiktok is.  Sometimes, I see a tittok thing show up in social media but you have to add an app or sign up or something, so I never bother.

There are apps I’ve purposely never signed up for such as Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, because I am often looking at my phone hours a day and being seduced into doubling that time in an alternate reality is unwise.

I use youtube, mostly for music and sports, and Facebook to keep in touch with old friends. I am also on linkedin, but none of the other apps like Instagram, x or tiktok.

I never go specifically to Reddit, but sometimes searches bring me there and I get good info which helps me with work.

Searches also take me there all the time for so many different things and I realized early on many years ago that it was a rabbit hole I could go down and from which I might have trouble escaping.

And I had just then discovered the rabbit hole of this site and I knew I couldn’t afford to go down one more. I’m actually kind of amazed at the mature restraint I was able to show in the face of such a temptation.

YouTube is spectacular for all sorts of things and I rely upon it daily. Facebook too has been great for staying in touch with friends I met in college over 50 years ago.

I don't like reels because I don't like portrait videos, and that goes double for baseball action offered to me in portrait mode. Or at least I haven't gotten used to them.

I don't know what a portait video is, but Reels gives me videos of attractive athletic women running up and down mountains.  I like those.  They also give me Tigers videos and math problems.  What else do I need?

I don't use Reddit for sports, but I do use it for local news of various cities in which I'm interested and for travel. It's a good source of real-time information and for dialogue that - despite anonymity - for the most part remains civil and constructive, probably due to having moderaters and upvotes/downvotes.
