Brewers lose for the 4th time in 5 games, including 3 straight losses to the Cubs who they play again tomorrow. For funsies, let’s have the Tigers make a little run at Milwaukee for best record in baseball. The Brewers’ record is 4 games better than the Tigers’.

Top of the 9th ended for the Brewers with the bases loaded. They had pulled it to 4-3 but couldn't come up with a 4th.

Nice to see Morton rub salt in the wounds of the Astros.

He's a better pitcher than he showed in Baltimore.  I think that playoff veteran presence will be helpful.

Houston taking all their frustration out on Baltimore. They've already scored 7 runs in the first 3 innings ..lol

I hope they get hot and win their division. They're the only division leader we have the tie-breaker against.

I don’t want any division leader or contender in reach of the Tigers to get hot. If I had to pick, I’d rather Seattle get hot than Houston because they have more ground they would need to make up on the Tigers.  The tiebreaker advantage is only worth 1 game and the Mariners are 2 games worse than the Astros right now. Chance of the tiebreaker even coming into play is probably only around 10% or so.

Seattle scares me. Their lineup is deep and they've had good pitching for a few years. I wouldn't want to play them, home or away.

Agreed. Especially since we all remember the thumping they put on the Tigers in the sweep before the All Star Game. But I’m debating in my head how much that is offset by the fact that if they do play the Tigers I’d be just a quick trip down the I-5 to be in attendance. So I’m a bit torn.

My advice after 40 years of being a big enough fan to care about such things.... don't root for or against any team in the playoffs in terms of a matchup.  You will get burned.

Good point.  I also advise NEVER change your plans with your family around sporting events.  You curse everyone when you do that.

So true. I was glad the Lions got to play the Commanders as my preferred matchup in this year’s playoffs. I was glad the Mets were upset by the Cardinals in the ‘06 NLCS. I was glad the New Jersey Devils knocked out the higher-ranked Flyers to reach the ‘95 SCF and clear the path for a Red Wings championship.

The Avs have no defense and are soft and we own Patrick Roy... bring 'em on.

Maybe.... I wanted the Mets in 2006 because I though we didn't match up well against StL pitching, and we didn't. Of course we may have lost to the the Mets also.

Yeah countless examples in my fandom where the team I wanted we lost to and the team I didn't we ended up beating. I didn't want the Lakers in 04 and the Pistons won, I wanted the Spurs over the SUns in 05 and we ended up losing. Didn't want the Yankees in 06 and we beat them liked our chances with the Cardinals and we lost. Wanted TCU and Michigan lost, I didn't particularly like playing Alabama and Michigan won. Just a few of many examples.
