Uncompetitive is not fair to say. We had a TD called back. This game was closer when that is rightly factored in. We screwed ourselves with two crucial mistakes. The St. Brown drop and Hutchison's boneheaded penalty really hurt us. In tight games like us that matters. The refs didn't do that too us, we did it to ourselves. Quote

number20 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 A bit of some Lions brand damage on national TV. That was ugly by Branch Quote

Adullin Posted October 13 Posted October 13 No way was the NFL gonna let their golden child drop to 2-4 1 Quote
Nate7474 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 A couple bounces earlier in the game go our way and it could’ve been a much different score. Mahomes fumble that bounces right back to him and weak pass interference call along with not catching a 4th down conversion. With that said the lions defense allowed to many extra yards on tackles that allowed the Chiefs to have short 3rd down plays which we stopped but then easy 4th down conversions to extend drives killed them early. 1 Quote
Nate7474 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I’ll be honest it’s not the first time that Branch has been ridiculous at controlling his emotions. I would not be surprised if he was the one star we have that we let walk or trade of the group that will be getting big raises soon. Great football player but 2 cent brain sometimes and you just knew it was him that started that. 1 Quote
romad1 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 What a wonderful weekend for Michigan's sports teams. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 KC is the worst logistical stadium I’ve been to, bar none. Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted October 13 Posted October 13 We're already thin af at the secondary. Now this? What a nerd...... Quote
Klondike Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Mahomes and the Chiefs were in complete control of this game. Never once did I feel the Lions had a chance. Whenever they needed a first down Mahomes did the scrambling thing and complete passes. On to the next.. Without stupid Branch probably Quote
Jimbo Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) Branch let his emotions get the best of him. No excuse. It is frustrating when you know going into a game that KC was going to get the calls. Don't think that's why we lost. Championship caliber team and QB came to play. As much as the whole Swift/Kelce stuff annoys me, Travis is such a great player. I felt like this was a sacrificial loss. Not saying they gave up or anything Just think they made a few decision on players (Decker/McNeil) to get them healthy. After last year, they didn't want to take a chance at losing anyone for the year. Branch will get suspended and fined but he had an ankle issue and two weeks off isn't the worst thing in the world. Edbuka could be out with a hamstring issue and Evans and Godwin are already dealing with injuries. Could be 2nd string secondary against 2nd string WRs. Baker is having a MVP type season so far but its at home and we lost this week. I like our chances. Curious if Decker and/or McNeil will play. My guess McNeil will get some reps and they will still sit Decker to get him that extra rest with the bye week coming. As I said all year, OL is my biggest concern. With Manu out, we are very thin. Motor City Sonics Posted October 13 Posted October 13 So, I didn't watch much of the game last night. Is TP saying the team is a 6-11 team now because they lost a game? Quote
romad1 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I know SOL isn't really in effect, except....Lions fans do get to learn the League's obscure rules in the moment more than any fanbase. 2 Quote

I can imagine the fans of other AFC teams really must be sick of the Chief's force field against penalties. Quote
Hongbit Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I’m not saying the NFL definitely has a thing against the Lions, but they’ve been a popular betting pick and their business partners make a bunch more money when the Lions lose. Fully expecting the Clete Blakeman or Brad Allen crew at Ford Field on Monday. Quote
Jason_R Posted October 13 Posted October 13 This is not the first time Detroit has had points taken off the board by the officials on an arcane point from the rule book in a prime time game. So did Dan talk to the refs about this play before the game? Assuming so, what was that conversation? Did they get out their rule books after and look for a technicality? Quote
