MCDC is the winningest coach in the NFL over the past four years and we are complaining about his challenge flags because he lost a challenge but won five minutes of rest for his defense at the cost of a 30-second time out. We’re losing the plot here.

Yeah, the challenge made the timeout last longer. But did it mean we were out of challenges? Either way, I'm fine with it. The coaches get an A+ for tonight.

They still would have had one more and challenges in the last two minutes comes from the booth.

I thought the cap was 25 but it felt like he was out there a lot.

DL was massively improved with him on the field.

He was so impactful from the first snap it was probably hard to keep him off the field.

I was way wrong about the defense. I need to put more faith in the Dan Campbell culture to get the most out of anybody, they did the same last year against Minnesota with an even more depleted group.

The offense still has a lot of work to do which is crazy to say but Jamo and Monty outside of the Baltimore game haven't been utliized nearly enough, I also feel like Teslaa should be getting more looks. Kind of scary for the rest of the league that the offense hasn't clicked yet, the defense is depleted, and the Lions are still 5-2. The schedule is extremely tough but if anybody can navigate it, it's Dan Campbell's Lions.

That throw in the end zone that Whiteside knocked down was underthrown. And one later in the end zone was overthrown. Mayfield had a bad night, he was whining a lot too

The ball to Evans was perfect, and Evans was going to catch it if he didn’t almost get knocked out by the ground.

Just got home and didn’t realize he broke his collarbone. Damn.

I’m worried about wearing Gibbs out.

This was a Gibbs game.   The next one will be a Monty game.

And don't you worry about Jaymo.   Just when you forget about him he's going to explode for a big game.

Just keep everyone healthy.

Do you think - if Kelvin Sheppard were to get offered a Head Coaching job that they'd make him cut his dreads?

He thought Campbell was going to tell him that when he offered him DC and Campbell said "no way, man", but too many teams are too conservative to allow it.   It could actually be a deal-breaker.    I could see Jerry Jones saying "no dreads" and Kelvin saying "then no thanks".   It's part of his personality.

This is the best bye week ever.

The thing about Jamo is that his contributions aren't always felt on the stat line. Without looking at the film, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the looks underneath to ASB were wide open because of Jamo running deep clearing out the safeties.

I’ve been reading some Jets fans posts and they are roasting Glenn. They’re pointing out the Lions defense is better without him. Glenn keeps falling back on the Lions started 0-10-1 but they keep saying he’s no Dan Campbell.

It’s also nice to step back and reflect that fans of other teams are envious of the Lions and want to emulate their coaching staff.

Gibbs is on pace for 253 carries. He had 250 last year.

I don't have the numbers but I think the lions must be running fewer plays per game because Gibbs touches are not up, Goff's attempts are not up, but Montgomery's carries are down. Seems that has to add up to fewer total plays. They are averaging two fewer 1st downs per game. It does seem the power ground game is less effective with the o-Line loses, so maybe that has translated into more dependence on chunk plays which is less Montgomery's game.

Lions are averaging 5 fewer plays per game on offense. Interestingly, opponents are averaging the same number of plays per game as last year.

****ing dreadful.  Get rid of Morton. He has called one of the worst games I’ve ever seen.  He has single handedly taken 20 points away.

While I'm not ready to fire Morton, I do think he hasn't been fantastic. In fairness the DL of the Bucs is very good, but there doesn't seem to be much creativity in this game. Way too many runs up the middle and that line stuffed too many of them. I'd like to see more play action and/or runs outside.

Especially at the end of the game... I mean running the ball for kill clock and force TB to use TOs WAS the right call, but why not try something a little outside instead of right up the middle?

Going outside has some drawbacks. Being forced out of bounds stops the clock or staying inbounds and getting slammed by a linebacker. I'm fine with the calls, a 2 score lead with them getting the ball back under 1 minute? It was over the second Tampa turned it over on downs. And I agree with MCDC, I'll never complain about winning. Or apologize.
