Comparing cap situations, the Vikings project to be $36 million over the cap next year. The Lions project to be $17 million under and that includes a $70 million cap hit from Goff. If they restructure Goff's contract, they can free up another $40 million. They can also restructure St Brown and Sewell. The Vikings don't have one player like Goff they can restructure but rather multiple. The Vikings are heading towards Saints territory and being a perpetual mediocre team because they constantly sign average players and have to restructure and cannot draft.

The Lions have a billionaire boys club. Several contracts that add up to a billion dollars. Wow.

And the Dodgers have two Japanese players with contracts that add up to a billion. We are living in crazy times.

Anyway, Detroit 33 - Minnesota 16.

Until baseball has a salary cap, teams will continue to try to buy championships. Look at the same cities in football and baseball. Football teams like Green Bay and Pittsburgh can easily compete with the big market teams. Teams like the Pirates? Not so much. The Brewers were a playoff team because the were built from within and their players all developed together. (Lucky) But in baseball, the playing field needs to be leveled. At least, in my opinion.

The Chiefs have the best player in football and a near dynasty. Not because they can outspend but because they draft and develop well. The Royals would never have been able to sign Ohtani out of Japan nor keep him long term. The New York Jets are the worst team in football and haven't made the playoffs in 15 years. The Giants aren't much better. The NFL is thriving with the largest market having two of the worst teams in the league. The NFL went 20 years without Los Angeles. Fans won't parody and not aa focus on a couple of large markets.

They are slowly nationalizing more bits of income - not the least being luxury tax transfer! But I don't like the whole 6yr/arb process. Players should be able to go to market much sooner but teams should have the right/option to match offers.

Well, that first drive is rather nice way to start the game.

I’m following this game on the game cast on the ESPN app and the plus side is that I don’t have to listen to or watch commercials or deal with announcers.

Once again, I can’t watch this game on FOX.

Like the sad little boy who lives on the wrong side of the tracks in The Polar Express who never gets any presents, I got my hopes up when the national FOX feed of game 7 last night in Toronto pitched the opportunity to watch this Lions Vikings game on TV at home, but to no avail.

When I checked my local YouTube TV listings I of course get my “local” or “regional“ broadcast of the Denver Broncos which is a whopping 12 hr. drive away and only accomplished if I never stop for food, drink or gas and am catheterized the whole way.

I have never met anybody in the 38 years I’ve lived in Boise Idaho, who is an avid Denver Broncos fan among my extended family group, or friends, at work, or school, or anywhere for that matter.

Same here in Oregon. I guess since Nix went to Oregon for his last couple of college years it could make some sense…😠

Embarrassing defense to start this game. Just like every other game we have seen from kelvin shepard this season. Every single game the opposing team scores an opening TD.  Bring all the backups in. Freaking joke.  3rd and 10 and absolutely no problem getting the first down.

Oh yeah, he sucks.    Terrible.   Horrible Coordinator.

Yep, the other team socres opening TD and Kelvin adjusts and they go and win the game.

But no, you know more.    Why aren't you the D Coordinator.  You should march on over to Allen Park and demand to be hired and go out there and show them all the ways you'd be better.  I'm sure they'd just eat it all up.
