Good thread re MnConnell

"Dying senators with staff pretending they're fine is par for the course." This right here. And of course it makes total sense. Practically no one would tell the truth in this situation, regardless of person or party, because if/once they did, they as staff would be minimized and marginalized within the larger political world, and also, the moment he dies, they'll be out of a job.

I thought Stevens started out really strong in the debate but seemed to fade later on.   El Sayed was very very extremely on message about corporate money in politics and in Stevens camp pain.

Stevens keeps dropping hammer fists on her podium and its echoing through the mic.

it gets monotonous saying this, but anyone trusting social media for unbaised information has been living under a rock for 10 yrs. This unfortunately includes large swaths of the US population.

If Stevens wins, they will use things like this to say the election was rigged by AIPAC and the establishment.

I don't see any parallel at all really.

1952 was a different world, and Nixon was second fiddle on the ticket. It didn't touch Eisenhower and money wasn't the kind of issue it is today. Nixon also had some goodwill to burn, being a bit of a folk hero  with the anti-communist crowd gained from of the Whittaker Chambers case. Plus it's a very different kind of allegation.

Platner's not the second fiddle on a ticket. He can go ahead and  hope he gets some swell of support from the public, but that wouldn't bring  back the  $$ to continue if the party funders have decided he's toast.

LOL. The big dummy is doing the Dem party a big favor.

Maybe he’s trying to goose turnout among young men who normally wouldn't vote in midterms.
