WHat qualifies as a "senior" to the Doc?  Is it the Bob Evans senior discount standard?  Is it 62.  65?  House paid off? Is there an income threshold? If someone's making $150K a year and is 55 and their modest house is paid off, do they get away with not paying over the 72 year old who is still working at Lowe's to pay off their $400 a month mortgage they got in 1998?

or do we just say "seniors" and get the vote?

My parents could easily afford the taxes on their house. Why should they have gotten a break and shift it onto younger people?

John James and Byron Donalds endorse Trump. What is your point? This is the equivalent of saying I'm not racist, I have black friends.

You go around accusing Jewish people of essentially being bad Jews because they don't submit to your world view of what a real Jew is and isn't. I realize you're a Rhodes Scholar and the gatekeeper for Judaism around these parts, but even still. That's my point

Yeah Jewish people can be bad people too.

I love how these working class heroes all come from wealth and then turn around and scream about any politician getting donations from Jews.

Can't speak on the others, but El Sayed married into a rich family.  I wish I could say the same.

El-Genocide didn't grow up poor. His father was an engineer and he lived in Bloomfield Hills.

I see the "your house is paid off, why do you pay property taxes" thing all the time and wasn't sure if i was a real belief or just rage bait.  It makes absolutely no sense.  A mortgage is a debt to someone that paid for your house.  Property taxes are to a municipality.  Those two groups have nothing to do with each other.  Of course many people merge the two "bills" into one so they probably think of it that way but that's their own idiocy.  The logic is horrible.  Should I not pay sales tax if I pay cash for a product?    What does a tax have to do with whether a product is paid off or not?

There really is no way around it, lots of American's are just pretty dumb.

Rich people benefit. Poor people take on a higher percentage of the burden or services that benefit poor people get cut. Seems like standard GOP thinking. Stupid and selfish.

The upper class keeps all of the money, pays none of the taxes.

The middle class pays all of the taxes, does all of the work.

The poor are there just to scare the shot out of the middle class. Keep them showing up at those JOBS!

Ironically, many that chided those that said 'defund the police' don't seem to realize these types of tax policies would eventually result in defunding the police.

Narrator: Abdul El-Genocide is not a physician.

He's not a physician, but he is a doctor, an MD to be specific.  This is a stupid gotcha which yeah, he should have known better and said doctor instead of physician, but whatever.  I'm not going to vote for the guy over Stevens, but you're not doing Stevens any favors trying to turn this into a big 'gotcha' moment.

It's not a gotcha. He says he's uniquely qualified because he's a physician. It's why he's an expert on Medicare for All. Also, his appointment as Director of Health of Detroit was likely invalid since he's not a physician. His being a physician is his qualification for being senator since he doesn't have any other qualifications.

yeah, as far as I think I followed his bio, he finished medical school (and so did receive an M.D.)  but did not take the boards, and then did a PhD in public health-epid. It doesn't appear fair to say he skated academically. Personally, I would have taken the boards because even as a PH.D epid, the license adds a lot to your cred, but I grant prepping for them is a big investment if you've already decided you don't want to practice.

I get the impression he's a very bright guy who started making compromises with political expediency  - maybe got too close to the Duggan operation for his own good.(?)

Having a phd in public health is a pretty good basis from which to consider Medicare for All.   Moreso than being a physician imo.

No one is saying he skated academically. He's deceptive about being a practicing physician which matters since that is what he claims is his qualification as a public health expert and senator.
