Tiger337 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) I am seeing a lot of speculation about a flat 1660 or 2000 monthly SS benefit fo all. This would be a big loss for me, but I would honestly accept it to help less fortunate people except for one big condition. It is being done to fund trillions of dollars of tax cuts to wealthy people and corporations. So, **** that! https://www.marketwatch.com/story/a-flat-1-660-monthly-social-security-benefit-for-everyone-its-one-proposed-cbo-remedy-fae3378c?mod=home_lead Edited May 2 by Tiger337 Quote

These critters have enough under the table sponsors to live on 1660 a month Quote

I suppose that could mean that something broke - if he just missed he should have been able to get airborne again but if he caught and then something broke, maybe he'd lost too much velo. Deleterious Posted May 7 Posted May 7 OK maybe I was quick with the blame. But man, this carrier group is having a hell of a time. Second US Navy jet is lost at sea from Truman aircraft carrier Quote The Truman aircraft carrier in particular, though, has been plagued with problems as part of its Red Sea deployment. In December, another F/A-18 fighter jet was operating from the Truman when it was “mistakenly fired” upon by the USS Gettysburg and crashed into the Red Sea. Both aviators ejected safely at the time. Then, in February, the Truman was involved in a collision with a merchant ship near Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea. Following the incident, the commander of the Truman at the time, Captain Dave Snowden, was relieved of duty. Captain Christopher Hill took command of the carrier shortly thereafter. Quote

Second US Navy jet is lost at sea from Truman aircraft carrier even if it was equipment failure, on a carrier that is still probably someone's fault. The carrier groups are all stretched too thin, spend too much time on station. We are trying to be a 7 ocean navy with a 5 ocean fleet. Edited May 7 by gehringer_2 Quote

CMRivdogs Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I don't know whether anyone has been following this farse. How much NC taxpayer money had the GOP wasted here? Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted May 7 Posted May 7 There is no accountability for police in America. They can do and act as they please, including beating a man to death on camera. Quote

Like other instances, even with visible proof, there are no consequences. No justice. What an awful verdict Quote
chasfh Posted May 8 Posted May 8 People will point to this as evidence that America and the police can’t possibly be racist, since these officers were black like the victim. But when it comes to the police, there is no black and no white. There’s only blue, and that makes cops a different breed altogether, one that transcends race. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted May 8 Posted May 8 The Ono move has been discussed in the College Football thread. Instead of it getting more political (but isn't everything political these days) I'll put this here. Quote

Everyone's interpretation of the event is either true or false depending on the answer to that question. Quote

Tiger337 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 So, the GOP wants to increase taxes on the rich and Trump supports it? I wasn't expecting that. What is their angle here? https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trumps-plan-to-increase-tax-on-rich-could-hit-most-u-s-businesses-b829753d?mod=home_ln Quote
