Motor City Sonics Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) This team sucks. They really do. They need some sort of change. They are picking up right where they left off last September. Last year's red hot start was led by a couple guys (McKinstry and Baez - and Torkelson a bit too) who were playing way above their normal. They all kind of faded by September and that is the version we're getting now. This team is lethargic. They must be taking their cues from the Red Wings. They look disengaged and disinterested. There needs to be a change somewhere on this roster. A shakeup. Something that makes them say "Oh, ****....:, Torkelson to Toledo or traded? I don't know. Can't play the no-name Cardinals every night. To think this team - the way they are playing now - could be anywhere near .500 is laughable. Without Keith and the rookie where would they be? tiger2022 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I really wanted Harris to sign a bat but for the 3rd year in a row, Harris didn't think it was important. He has neglected the offense and thought it better to throw $13 million at a washed up Charlie Morton/Chris Paddack caliber pitcher for nostalgia reasons. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I can’t believe they’re playing another night game. The Twins don’t do afternoon getaway games? The people of the Twin Cities certainly can’t all be taciturn Norwegian bachelor farmers who love the cold. Quote

Tomorrow is a 1:40 start. Quote

I thought this was a three game series not a four game series. This is what you get when you have dispassionate robots creating schedules. Quote

A quick glance at the schedule and it looks like this one of only two Mon-Thu series all season long. The other is next month against Cleveland. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This team's slogan so far this season should be "Oh, wait, you mean we have to play today? Oh, okay, sure". Quote

I think Harris will instead use a promotion or two to shake things up. Perez? Clark? Both? Quote
HeyAbbott Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I am ordinarily not a believer in using a promotion to shake things up. Right now, it needs to be on the table. Quote
Zakk_Wylde Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I'm hoping somebody can help me with this question. Can anybody here tell me what the only thing that Fieger Law does is? I might have heard it mentioned once or twice while watching a Tiger game this year but I can't remember. Perhaps they will mention it on tonights game? Edited 3 hours ago by Zakk_Wylde Quote

Replacing guys with a guy who has bounced back and forth from the majors to AAA and a 22 year old guy that was way over his head in spring training isn't like signing a solid major league hitter. These guys aren't going to have a massive impact on the lineup. 1 Quote
Tenacious D Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I think Clark could. I’m not putting much stock in his spring—he’s playing in more competitive games now. I’d still give him another 25-30 games before a promotion, but he close and has the talent for disruption. Think a Parker Meadows with a much better hit tool and plate discipline. A McGonigle /Clark/Keith combination at the top of the order could wreak havoc and make Greene, Carp and Tork more productive. Edited 2 hours ago by Tenacious D Quote

Had he signed such an "established" hitter who would have been the casualty (outside of likely no Framber)?? Quote
gehringer_2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I can't see them giving Jones much more rope but other than that: Parker and Javy aren't actually doing too badly, Torkelson's last three games were good, Yesterday it was Keith, Torres and Dingler that went 1-12 and those are the guys who had been playing well so far. Green is scuffling but you know he going to get more room to straighten up than anyone else on the team. Quote
tiger2022 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) They have to give Greene, Carpenter, and Torkelson all the time they need to turn it around. There aren't any other guys in the organization that are 30+ home run hitters. There might not be any other guys who are 15+ home run guys. If those guys fail, the Tigers are punching their ticket to last place. Edited 1 hour ago by tiger2022 Quote

1984Echoes Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago Just a WAG: When the weather warms up... I think they start playing better. I don't think this is a cold-weather team. IMO. PS: I can NOT explain last year though... Quote
