Rob Deer was better than conventional wisdom portrays him.

He was 30 years ahead of his time.

He had his best year with us: 1992, .247/.337/.547, 32 bombs, and 919 innings of arguably average defense in right.

I recall an interview he gave in Spring Training when he hit a HR and Bernie Smilovitz asked him what pitch did he hit and Rob Deer just looked at him like he had three heads.  Eventually snorting out an answer like "I dunno"

When was the last time the Tigers made a really big trade?      I mean bigger than Gregory Soto trade?

As buyers or sellers? Trading Flaherty for Liranzo was bigger than Soto for Vierling.

As a buyer, probably Paredes for Austin Meadows.

Challenge trade was porcello for cespedes. Before that you had the Jackson and smyly and adames for David price deal.

Two different weather apps I have are predicting different moderate possibilities of showers so I’m going to be depending upon driveway reports from those of you who live in the promised land.

Vierling in the #4 spot is certainly....unique.

He's been pretty hot. I think the bigger deal is Kevin moved to the 3 hole, a good run producing spot. Smart move.

According to my girl Stephanie the system is breaking up and moving southwest so if Detroit gets anything it won’t be a big deal or last long.  Unless she was talking just to me?

No Yelich. I guess he’s on the 10 day DL. He’s one of those players I love to watch. But I tend to enjoy him more when he’s playing other teams instead of my own.

The best spot for overall run production is the #2 spot.  By run production, I mean being involved in run scoring, either by runs scored, RBI or getting a hit that puts a runner (who eventually scores) into scoring position .
