UCFKNIGHT Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I'm not happy with this most recent loss to the Red Sox, but I'm relieved Scott Harris didn't sign Skubal to a long term $200 million dollar contract. Skubal's value to other MLB teams just plummeted to $21 million over the next three seasons. Skubal must prove he can pitch in high leverage situations again. Quote

Tiger337 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Apparently, Ricky Vanasco does not understand how pitching chaos works. Quote
UCFKNIGHT Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Is Verlander close to beginning a rehab assignment? Quote
UCFKNIGHT Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I thought the Tigers equipment managers donated those city connect uniforms to the Salvation Army? I hate that look. Edited 3 hours ago by UCFKNIGHT Quote
IdahoBert Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I like the City Connects. It looks like something out of Tron and they’re going to kill robots. Tron good robots bad. Quote
UCFKNIGHT Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It's not time to panic. Greene and McGonigle have been drawing their share of walks, but the tigers lineup just isn't clutch in 2-out situations. I'm hoping for a miracle and better results with RISP soon. Quote

The Tigers are batting .318 with an .889 OPS with two outs and runners in scoring position. Quote

Tonight’s curious lineup notwithstanding, the offense seems in almost every respect better this year than last, except maybe HRs. And I think those will come. Yet every time someone strikes out in a key situation or a hot pitcher stymies the offense for a few frames the complaints about the offense emerge. Baseball fans being baseball fans I guess. 1 Quote

But does it feel like that to you ? I mean it seems far worse. Do those stats apply to close games or all games . It could be padded in blowout games or early in games which of course is still important but not like one or two run games 7th inning and later which seems real bad. But I do not have the facts like Joe Friday. Quote

Once they signed Valdez, there was no question keeping Skubal was the right thing to do. you never know what the future holds, which is why it would have been nice to make some big signings LAST YEAR OR AT THE TRADE DEADLINE... The offense always feels worse when you are behind and/or especially when you don't trust your bullpen so failure to add runs feels like it's courting impending doom. Quote
