Shams said Boston is listening to offers on Jalen Brown.

There was a quote elsewhere today that Brown wanted to be the lead dog on his own team - Detroit wouldn't offer that to him.    But who knows?

Love the idea of landing him.  Only downside is his injury history is pretty bad.

That and he's old and doesn't have any playmaking chops so the Pistons would still have the problem of Cade having to do all the playmaking and ball handling. He's essentially a Duncan upgrade which is fine but doesn't fit a big need. The reason why I prefer Herro over him is because Herro has some playmaking ability to alleviate some of that load from Cade, Powell doesn't really provide that.

welcome to detroit!

No chance, other teams like Atlanta and the Clippers have far better draft picks to offer.

Sorry.  I bust out in uncontrollable laughter when someone suggests Herro.

Soooo you disagree that Herro is a better playmaker?

That is what you're hanging your hat on?  OK, Herro had 1.5 more APG than Powell last year.  That doesn't make up for the 10-12 points Herro will give up every 4th quarter.

It just blows me away how much people are just willing to forget 50% of the game.  An organization that has 3 titles all won with defense.  A current team who owes its success to defense.  But people still want to add a guy who is one of the worst defenders in the entire league.  A guy who is even below Duncan Robinson on the defensive end.

But it isn't even just that.  I could sort of understand it if the guy in question was an elite offensive player.  But Herro isn't even close to that.  In fact, he is absolutely awful in the playoffs on offense.  Then you want to pay him $40-$50 million a year?  To play half the court, and not even do that very well?

I will never understand that.

I'm just saying that Herro fills a bigger offensive need, he's a more diverse offensive player and he's also way younger. The defense is obviously a big problem but I'm speaking strictly offensively.

And if you don't sign him to an extension you're giving away the few trade assets you have for a one year rental. It's lose/lose.

Reilly and Berry spun a tall tale to get Reaves paid.  The amount of roster gymnastics Detroit would need to do to get enough space to offer Reaves a max deal is astounding.  I would guess there is almost no way this is true.

And for people saying the Reaves deal takes LA out of the running for Duren.  No it doesn't.  They can still create enough space to offer Duren if they renounce James or James signs with someone else.

They should give the hometown boy a fat extension and keep him.

I keep hearing about the Pistons trading Stewart. No. Just no. I dont want to sacrifice his defense. His D leads to fast break points.
