it's worse in hockey when you have ads moving in the background on the boards and your'e trying to follow the puck.    I think the Red Wings were the first team to put ads on the boards, by the way.   At least the first in the NHL

What's really interesting is the ads on the walls behind home plate are different for the opposing teams feed. When the Tigers win, I sometimes rewatch the opponent feed to hear the other announcers voice of depression. 😅

Wow finally down in single digits to .500

This beat goes on! Good chance the Tigers will be only 6.5 out of 1st in the Central by the end of the night.

I was reading a book and following this on gameday when four runs were scored in the sixth, so I’m watching it now. I didn’t realize that all the damage occurred with two outs! Wow!

I thought Hinch was going to blow this one sitting on his hands while Anderson self-immolated, but he got away with it. Good win aside from that and a couple of terrible AB by Tork.  Waguespack looking like a nice pick-up. +1 Harris.

Man, even we when we win, Hinch loses! 😉

he played up to the edge about as close as you can, but if they are going to comeback from this deficit they need that kind of luck to keep it going.  Of course Hao Yu Lee could have just fielded the ball also. Anderson is going to give his manager ulcers though - plenty to like about the stuff but reliability is lacking.

League average SO% and below average BB% for Waguespack is nice.  BABIP of .103 seems unsustainable.

Guardians and Palehose fall. 6.5 games back. They've made up 5 games on the division lead in 31 games.

Also only 5, out of the first wild card, 5.5 out of the 2nd, and 9 out of the first.   (They made up 5 games on the Yankees in the last 10)

Now tied with Oakland, and within a game of Baltimore and Boston). All without a real hot streak.

it sure would be nice to see an 18 out of 20 win stretch like the White Sox had earlier, but keep winning series and they will continue to make up ground.

and this news makes some Tiger "fans" sad because they've built a brand that takes precedence over team success.

The Tigers really are quite lucky that their outlier injury situation corresponded to an outlier season in the AL overall, where only three good teams are having success.

Outside of the top 3, it really is quite tight. Compare this to the NL, where five teams are above 75% and the next team is at 40%.

It can be tough to reconcile the odds with what the standings show from a games behind standpoint at this point of the season. That’s going to be the tough part when we get to the end of July.

Getting closer to that 33% range.

I would say only two are preforming well, and that second team is going through something the Tigers went through in May right now. The Mariners are only two over .500 but have high odds because of a weak division and strong projections.

interesting that they rate the Guardians chances as so much better than the Sox, given how much better Chicago's run differential is. Strength of schedule I suppose(?).
