lordstanley Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Lead blown. 7-7. Orioles have potential go-ahead run at 3rd with 1 out. Quote

Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted July 29 Posted July 29 the Tigers have basically the Baltimore Orioles' defense of bullpens. Quote
DTroppens Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I think 85 wins is going to be hard, and that's hoping the number is 85. Probably since the teams are at lower win percentages now it helps, but with so many teams in that pack, a team or two will go on a tear. The Tigers better make sure they are one of them. I have never had a season where people treat a Tiger win or two like it's a two-game win streak for a 17-game football season. It's like people act like this team has "been more than they've been." And I can see where people think that a little bit. They were decimated by injuries earlier this season. But that collapse was horrendous regardless who was play. The pen is still just plain lousy. And they are still still below .500 and have something like the fifth-worst record in the AL. I understand people wanting to maintain faith, but the Tigers win yesterday and it seems people think all is forgotten because it's a 14-run win. They just lost the night before. That win just nullifies that loss. But people act like a win is like three wins. It's still just a win. A nice win, but until they get to a point where they can win a game and get back to .500, they still have a lot to prove. And that's not being a hater. I hope the Tigers make the playoffs and win 16 of their next 20. But let's not celebrate a win as though it means they are one of the three best teams in baseball just yet. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I hate to pile on but man, this exceeds the worst of what I thought I could expect to see today. Baseball is like this yes, it’s a seesaw yes, but still, the underbelly of this team is vulnerable. Quote

They have a lot of good players, a lot of bad players, and many guys who collapse in high leverage. The positive results are tantalizing and the losses are not terrible..because they are always so close...if they could just correct that one thing!! But they can't. 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 OK, let’s walk this thing off and act like it all never happened and all is right with the world… Quote
SeattleMike Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Remember in April when the Tigers blew threw 5-0 leads? Been that kind of year for the bullpen. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I didn’t used to dislike tbeginning extra innings with a runner on 2nd, but now that our team is so crappy at it I really don’t like it. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 OK, here we go let’s have a Dingaling put an end to this! Quote
lordstanley Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Inning ending DP and we are off to the bottom of the 10th tied 7-7. Win it now! Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Valencia grounds into a DP. It’s almost like some mad scriptwriter wrote this. Quote
