chasfh Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Also, lol Weaver implying that we could have won so much more, and can win even more going forward, with Wenceel, Carpenter, Parker, and Verlander—Verlander!—active and playing. How many examples is this now of national media knowing nothing about the Tigers just in the past two weeks? Quote
motownblues Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Today is Gates Brown day. On 8/11/68 the Gater won both games of a double header with the Red Sox with a pinch hit home run in the 14th inning of game one,and a ninth inning single in game two. The Tigers rallied with 4 runs in the ninth inning which is what they did best in 1968. 1 Quote

I'm pretty sure that would not happen. you don't think teams have given rings to guys they traded and played against in the playoffs? Interesting question. Wikipedia came up with Bengie Molina: Bengie Molina in 2010 is the ultimate example. He started that season playing 61 games for the San Francisco Giants before being traded to the Texas Rangers. He then played against the Giants in the 2010 World Series as the Rangers' catcher. When the Giants won the series, they still awarded him a championship ring for his early-season contributions Do you think the Tigers would let themselves be seen as having less class than those West Coast elitists? oblong Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Didn't Rod Allen get a 1984 ring? He wore what looked like a championship ring. Quote

I think it’s fairly common practice to award rings to guys that contributed to the season. But, tigers are not winning a ring this year. And, I doubt Skubal would want one in this scenario. Quote

IdahoBert Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Bibee has really dominated the Tigers lately, and is probably due for a regression. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted August 11 Posted August 11 It seems like leadoff walks lead to disaster. Prove me wrong, Drew Quote
