Looks like the Establishment Clause in the Constitution may soon be a thing of the past

well, what goes around usually come around. After the right interprets the Establishment clause away, it opens the door for a future court to interpret the 2A away. At least I can hope.

My other question is if the court rules in favor of subsidizing religious private schools, can I get a tax rebate or even a state subsidy for homeschooling?

What if I don’t have kids in school can I get a rebate on my tax rebate?

That’s what this seems to be to me.

He’s no Jesuit…… (so, by comparison, fersure he’s more conservative).

But he was a missionary in Peru for a lot of years, so he’s hopefully more attuned to those in the world who are “less thans”.

I believe I heard though born in Chicago, he went to Villanova. 🙂   Any idea what that portends?

I did see a tweet where he chastised the VP for "ranking" who we are supposed to love.

He’s also criticized Trump on Social Media, at least reposting other posts.

This is the thread I was looking for. As far as church politics, I have no clue. But as I’ve said before I’m basically a “back pew” Presbyterian

The memes are great.

After I got past that, I started wondering how a powerful leader from the American Catholic Church could be named Pope.

There is so much abuse that took place here for decades that was either ignored, covered up, or plainly accepted by Church elders.

I find it highly unlikely the Chicago area was a shining light of proper clergy behavior for the decades that he was in charge.

I would’ve thought the failure of the leaders to punish and stop the abuse for so long would preclude any American from becoming Pope for many more years.

To be fair, even Francis was conservative, just on the left side of that designation.  Sounds like Francis thought of him as a successor.  I'm happy with that.

I kind of want to go to my Church Sunday and see if my asshole priest bitches and/or digs at him, like I heard him do to Francis before.
