buddha
the battle for the bottom of the central continues! a titanic struggle between the resistsble force and the moveable object. america will once again turn her eyes to the midwest to view this amazing spectacle of incompetence, heights reached only in recent pittsburgh-cincinnati battles. Jim Cowan
A lot of networks will be carrying this live, pre-empting their regular programming. PBS is going to have Judy Woodruff in the booth. Steven Spielberg has acquired the movie rights and his buddy Tom Hanks is hoping to play Spencer Torkelson. Didn't Tom Hanks already star in a movie about a whole team that played like girls?
roarintiger1
Gut check time. Can the Tigers climb out of the cellar? If only Alex Avila was still in Detroit and batting second. This time around he might actually be the best #2 hitter on the team.

His 2011 was one of the greatest hitting-years by a catcher ever....age 24....and he was only above average hitting-wise one other time (2017). He was the Miguel Andujar of Catchers in terms of hitting. Edited September 27, 2022 by sabretooth
casimir
They’ve carved “313” into the CF lawn. Is that to honor Al Avila? 313 Tiger wins during his 7 season career as GM?

gehringer_2
silly inning by KC. When you have a 3 run lead in the 8th you take the sure outs. These runs were pure gifts. But we'll take 'em!

Tork with a great game in the field again. If his bat can keep him in the majors he was a gold glove in his future.

Jim Cowan
Baddoo finally broke through that Mendoza ceiling. His OPS in his last 15 games is .933, mostly thanks to a BABIP in the high .400's. Good for him, luck evens out.
