Deleterious Posted Saturday at 04:50 PM Posted Saturday at 04:50 PM The guy on the video was probably from Flint. Or at the very least, he was mixing terms from Flint and Detroit style coneys. A true Flint style coney uses something called coney sauce, and It's made by Abbott's Meat, a local meat provider/butcher. Places will add things to provide their own touch, but all true Flint style coneys start with a base of Abbott Meat's coney sauce. Abbott's just closed down after over 100 years in business. So Koegels has picked up the torch and is now making the sauce. https://www.amazon.com/Abbotts-Hotdog-Coney-Sauce-4lbs/dp/B00FA8NKCM 1 Quote
oblong Posted Saturday at 05:23 PM Posted Saturday at 05:23 PM If anyone in the area wants good coneys a good place is Joes Top Dogs in east Dearborn. Doesn’t get mentioned like those 2 downtown or Duly’s but it’s just as good. Quote
oblong Posted Saturday at 08:26 PM Posted Saturday at 08:26 PM I was second guessing myself and asked my wife and she confirmed chili and not coney sauce. Quote
