  1. Past hour
  2. "Yes" didn't actually get that great of turnout compared to "No".... The analysis post-vote suggests that yesterday's electorate may have been more Republican than the one that gave Glenn Youngkin a win in 2021. But they drove home the message in NoVa hard and the swings in each of the counties around Washington were enormous. The two takeaways I have from the affair is that Elon Musk and DOGE get an assist in getting this across the finish line and that, in a Midterm environment where there are actual candidates on the ballot and not an issue referendum like this one, it's not going to go nearly as well for them electorate-composition wise as this one did
  3. This is very very sweaty.... and with good reason
  4. I have MLBTV for Tigers games. The only ads I saw all weekend were of some geezer standing in front of his tractor telling me to vote no. Every half inning, every pitching change. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday…..
  5. Downs would be good value. He is more of a Brian Branch type than a CF'er though. If Branch comes back they could put one of them in the slot. I think the Lions need to add speed to the defense though. I would like to see an edge that can't double as a three tech, but can actually play in space. And some faster LB'ers also.
  6. I think Thompson does create their offense through his defense. But you have to have SOME spacing out there or else cade is going 1-5. let ausar crash from the dunker spot. tobias has to play better and at least be a credible threat from 3. or put green in there. there have been a whole lot of surprising results so far. i expect the pistons to shoot better tonight and win, but it wouldnt surprise me if they dont. how many 39 point cade games can we expect?
  7. I like to watch the Ken Burns PBS Country Music documentary. In the section on Kris Kristofferson and Sunday Morning Coming Down and the lyrics: And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringing And it echoed through the canyons Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday Larry Gatlin said: "All those words are in the dictionary but until Kris no one knew what damn order to put them in "
  8. Today
  9. That or as an in addition too. They may change up their defensive scheme and play three safteys and rotate guys in the box and coverage. This would mean they such to a two LB set. O could see all three of Branch, Downs, and Joseph on the field at the same time.
  10. The basic question comes down to whether the process was valid. A lower court ruled it was invalid. The Supreme Court allowed the referendum to go to a vote while they deliberated. The decision comes down to whether the General Assembly acted within the state constitution in redrawing the maps and whether redrawing the maps mid decade was allowed. The fact they fast tracked the review and allowed the vote to continue might be telling... Who knows Incidentally, in 2020 voters approved a constitutional amendment requiring redistricting maps be drawn by an "Independent Commission" (similar to Michigan ???). The commission was to be made up of legislators and private citizens from both parties. The Independent Commission could not agree on a compromise map. The State Constitution then required the State Supreme Court to appoint an Independent Special Masters group to draw the maps that are the current maps (before yesterday). The map we just voted on was drawn by the state legislature. The question is did the legislature overstep their constitutional rights. The state court could have stopped the stopped the vote, now they have to decide...
  11. Kerby replacement?
  12. This is a big reason for all the stupid distractions—it is so the abject destruction of government as a tool of the people can be replaced by government as a tool of the Trumpian oligarchy.
  13. A better player for his career than Tork.
  14. Either way, hubba hubba.
  15. Again, out of thanks but THANK YOU.
  16. I am out of thanks for the day but THANK YOU.
  17. Do you not think this particular Court could parse the D state redistrictings and kill them off from the R state redistrictings and uphold only those? I'm not predicting they're going to do that for sure, but I will say I think they could totally do that, especially on then shadow docket, which doesn't even require shared reasoning, never mind constitutional consistency.
  18. I would guess statisticians give Hinch suggestions for line-ups or match-ups based on data. Hinch probably considers them, but makes adjustments based on things that don't necessarily show up in statistics. I don't really know, but that would seem to be the ideal way.
  19. Out of likes today but LIKE
  20. Man, the IRGC is killing it on social. Eight words I could never have imagined typing out in that exact order.
  21. His keyboard to God's phone.
  22. It's one thing to use this trope for political advantage with their rube base, and they may win a battle here and there by cynically employing it. But when they themselves believe it—IOW, when they're getting high on their own supply—they can't win the war.
