Cossa had a .233 GAA and a .915 save%. He was to 8 in the AHL in save% and third in wins overall. Let's not act like Cossa is truly a bust. Yzerman just hasn't given him a chance to truly prove himself at the big league level.

When I hear commentators, especially on national broadcasts, gushing about who is hitting in the “three spot” or batting “cleanup” even a generally emotional fan as myself has to roll his eyes and wonder if they’ve been paying attention to what’s been going on in analytics for the last 25 to 30 years.

It was a dumb trade from a GM with no clue about the new CBA. It was 100% a trade you make in the past but you absolutely cant do it now under the new rules. They are now an apron team which means their roster is pretty much locked in. The new rules make it almost impossible to maneuver via trades and free agency is impossible. Their roster will have ehh, a good $250-$300 million in luxury tax payments in 3 years. They have: No PG. Absolutely nobody to distribute the ball. No Shooting. They make Detroit look like the splash brother era Warrior teams they are so bad. And Franz being out didn't do that. He is a career 32% three point shooter. Suggs being out didn't do that. He is a career 33% three point shooter. No PoA defender. Suggs can handle smaller guards like Brunson. But nobody to guard the bigger guys like Cade, Jalen Johnson, etc. Best part. They have no way to fix any of their roster problems because they are now an apron team. On top of that, they have no draft picks worth a damn to help fix any of their problems. If you make a deal like that, it has to be two things. 1) He has to be a star if you give up that much and lock yourself in that bad. Bane is a nice player, he is not even close to being a star. 2) He has to be the final piece to the puzzle. If you are going to lock your roster in because of all the new rules, you can't have massive holes to fix on your roster. They do. I love aggressive GM's. Hell, I had multiple aggressive trade ideas for Detroit. Difference is, none of them put them in the roster/salary hell Orlando is in for the next 3 years.

Brogna was traded for Alan Zinter. I remember having an argument on the AOL board with one of the dumbest baseball fans on the internet. He said that Tony Clark was going to be another Alan Zinter. I told him that Zinter was never a good prospect and was nothing like Clark. He got really upset telling me I knew nothing about baseball and to get my head out of the spreadsheets. He assured me that Zinter was a stud prospect who flamed out. The same guy once told me that Brookens was a good hitter because he was clutch. That pretty much summed up my early days on social media. This guy was a high school teacher from Ohio. 😀

This Colorado Minnesota game is nuts. It's the complete opposite of the earlier game.

I went for a walk after the game to burn off some adrenaline and the thought that kept hitting my mind was "it's nice to know the Pistons are playing basketball deep into May." Kind of put a smile on my face for the entire walk.

If that injury doesn't happen, I doubt the Pistons advance, so I'm glad he's injury prone.

our first round goalie who cant eve start in the AHL playoffs? who has been beaten out by an undrafted free agent? THAT first round pick? the moral of the story is not "why is our GM not playing our first round goalie," but rather "why is our GM trading up in the first round FOR A GOALIE?"

I've been using Fedora for more than 15 yrs. It's the opposite of an LTS, releases come 2'ce/yr and updates every day. But Linux updates so painlessly, even the full release updates take less than maybe 1/2 hr. TBH, I probably still wouldn't advise someone to use linux if they are not open to learning how to maintain it. It's not particularly hard but you have be willing to do a searching when you have an issue and a little typing to fix it. OTOH, when stuff is broke, linux developers fix it FAST - usually a day or two.
