Yeah, but it's so weird to be standing for maybe 3-5 minutes in one section of a store and they knew EXACTLY what I was looking for. Just creepy. But I think I am a fairly young-thinking old guy at 61, but I don't need non-stop adulation on social media. To me it's a form of mental illness and there's a lot of really sick people out there and they don't know it. I've read about a growing trend of people unplugging from social media and finding themselves to be much, much happier. It's crazy. It's like the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive", which is the most realistic episode of the whole series. Great episode and 100% happening in real life.

Maybe its a blessing Langdon didn't make a trade. His big free agent acquisition played 25 minutes and scored 2 points last night. -

the tattletales are Bluetooth and Location Services. Turning BT off when you don't need it and locking down location services so apps can only use it when they are in focus or not at all is about all you can do other than a hard shutdown of the phone.

It's funny, but I don't bring my phone into the store probably 80% of the time. And the reason was I was once shopping for a streaming device in a target. All I had was my phone on me. I did not take my phone out check anything and the next thing you know, I started getting a bunch of ads for streaming device sales. So, based on where I stood for a few minutes, I guess. That **** is scary to me. I no longer have Facebook on my phone because I found it to be a major distraction, but also, I don't want people to know where I am at all times and I think Facebook is a major contributor to that. I do use loyalty rewards at Kroger and Meijer, but they have physical price labels on their shelves. If I see those disappear or see electronic ones, I will dump that rewards program.

First turnover and the fans will be letting the Pistons have it. At least, I hope so. Being so casual with the ball, making lazy passes and missing free throws cost them all 3 games in this series. And possibly the whole series. Totally unacceptable. -

Fans who are screaming about the Pistons not making a move makes them feel better but I also read an article about teams making a big trade deadline move hadn't won them a championship in 8 years. Could we have been the next team? We'll never know. I see their point though, at least we could have tried. The heck with the future, I wanna win now -

Well, if they could sweep the end of this series, I think we could look past your prediction. -
I had an argument with my then pulmonary doctor over this a few years ago. At an appointment he asked how I was doing under a certain medication. I told him I hadn't heard from anyone. "Do you answer your phone when it's an unknown caller?' No "You should aways answer your phone". If it was important they should leave a voicemail. We went round about this for several minutes. Then he said "you'll enjoy Dr. XXX" and walks out. It turns out his "assistant never sent the prescription in (the prescription comes from s speciality pharmacy). And never contacted the specialist to set up an appointment, until I called his office the second time. I stll don't answer my phone on unknowns. I figure if they needed to call me they'd leave a message. If it's not in my directory...

I wonder if there's betting going on whether Tork makes it 6 games in a row? Probably. -
Don't worry, he usually finds his car keys eventually after he sobers up. one of the other parents will pick his kid up from little league practice nobody with any sense would put a drunk in charge of this much destructive capability

One guess ... 😁 What I wonder as I see this picture is, what are these military people actually thinking as they are watching this shambolic farce? These aren't rank and file guys in their late teens and early twenties, are they? If they are at a Pentagon briefing, they must be highly ranked officers with decades of service across multiple administrations. Do they actually respect Bob Ritchie as a symbol of American military strength? I guess the Mike Flynn-types would, but that can't be most of them, can it?

If I don't recognize a number, I don't answer. Let them leave a message if it's so important. They almost never do. Occasionally, if I am annoyed enough, I will log into my Google Voice, which is under a different number, and call the number back to see whether it's real and if so who it is. Vast majority of the time, it's not even a valid number, or if it is, a recording tells me some flavor of "we are not available to answer your call". So, number spoofing, because of course it would be. On the other side of the ledger: One of my favorites when I call a bank about an issue is the menu items (which I have to listen to in its entirety because it has recently been changed 😏). The first option is usually, "to check your account balance, press 1", and I'm thinking, how old and/or offline do I have to be to have to call a bank on the phone to see how much money I have with them? Do people actually choose that option often? Last one: whenever I call a utility like DirecTV for customer service, the first three options are usually about sending them money: "To make a payment by phone, press 1; to make a payment by credit card, press 2; to make a payment by check, press 3 ..."

The Tigers are now in sole possession - yes you heard that right sole possession – of the American League Central division with a 15-14 record because the Guardians played yesterday and lost. -
It was the thing that made me call my friends. "Hey, you see someone tried to execute the President?" I think that raises to the point of interest among people whose job is relevant to that issue.

If the Red Sox fired the manager and staff this early, they were probably contemplating making a change in spring training. It’s not as though Cora was setting the world on fire with this team. He inherited one of the greatest teams in history and cruised to a ring in 2018, but ever since, they’ve been kind of flailing, clustering around .500, never winning another division, and missing the playoffs more than making them. Another thing to remember: Cora was not this front office’s guy. He belonged to the Dombrowski front office. Craig Breslow gets to reshape the on-field coaching in his image now, but then he gets full blame if they end up flailing, too. I sure wouldn’t want to be a Red Sox fan right now.

This reminds me of when some fashion or other NYC-centric person dies and the national news programs, based in NYC, assume that most people care.
