That sounds like Brad. I would rather they add some speed to the LB and edge group. I like Jacob Rodriguez as well. Miller's scouting report is that he is a 325 pound one tech, just like Tyleik.

I think you can be creative with the direction (adding a nickel, safety, or corner), but I'd be surprised if they go into week one with the defensive backfield they currently have. Feels like you're depending a lot on Kerby, who's a question mark, Branch, who probably won't be back until at least October, and even Rakestraw, who's struggled to see an NFL field. -
I don't spend time learning about players for the draft, but the Lions selecting an OT with the first round has my approval.

Alice Cooper was awesome. The energy he has at 78 is amazing. The guy tours probably 250 days a year all around the US and Europe. The surprise of the concert was a rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit during his encore. First time he's ever done that. Well, I'm sure he's done it for the few shows during this tour, but never has done it during any other tour in the last 25 years.

Celebrating like he won a free bottle koozy at a small town car show.

If you listen to 97.1, you know that Kang has been on fire the past couple years with guessing who the Lions are going to pick. He called the Miller pick last night and last year he called the Ratledge and TeSlaa picks. He has the Lions taking DT Christen Miller from Georgia tonight.

Played my first night of outdoor sand volleyball last night. The first night of the season is always one of the best. What outdoor sports do people play around here during the spring/summer/fall seasons? I get the feeling I'm going to be peer pressured into pickleball. Actually played it during a day of sand volleyball the Sunday of Labor Day week barefooted for about four hours. It was fun. But we did the bridge walk and walked some trails at some state parks in the area that day and my feet were hurting pretty bad. Basically wore off a couple of layers of skin. So I learned one thing - don't play four hours of pickleball with bare feet.

I had to cover a sporting event and I got to my car late in the second quarter. Heard the score, heard Champion pretty much saying the Pistons were playing mighty well but the Magic just weren't hitting shots and it's scary how it was still tied. So I get home, my wife has me do something outside before I get in to watch the game. I walk in and the Pistons are up 15. It almost blew my brain. 🙂 It's nice to see it's still possible to hold a team to 38-point halves in an NBA playoff game. -

I think a guy like Jacob Rodriguez the LB from Texas Tech is a textbook Dan Campbell player. He's a high motor, good character guy, who seems to love the game of football and have a strong work ethic. As well, he could slide in and be our WLB to replace Anzalone. Gabe Jacas also fits those traits but plays at another position of need as a DE/Edge. Jacas also gives them what they covet in an edge-setting lineman, who can stay in on all three downs and play against the run. I'd personally be fine enough with either Jacas or Rodriguez. I'd prefer Jacas as he offers more ability to get at the QB and disrupt passing plays. He had 11 sacks, 41 total pressures, and 22 hurries. I'm really intrigued by his pass rush abilities. I doubt he makes it to the Lions pick at #50, but would run the draft card right up to Goodell and make the pick. -
Are the hit pieces on Kerr already starting? Mark Spears was on a podcast and said the Warriors grew tired of Kerr's political comments.

I will be on the road for this one. It's going to be a sirus/xm radio game for me. My wife has a super rare Saturday off (had to use her last vacation days of her work anniversary) and had this planned a couple of weeks ago. Hmmmm, It's a Peacock game. I do have Peacock and keep forgetting I do. I think they archive games, right? Maybe I should just try to ignore social media and radio stations (I've become pretty good at doing this) and just watch the game when I get a chance late Sat night. I think I may try to do that. -
I feel like safety is a greater need than edge. This defense has always been at its best with a killer like Kerby patrolling center field to pick off rushed throws.

Only 4 of the 16 teams will even hit the 15 game played mark. Playoffs are short, you have to make do with small data set sizes. If you want something with more minutes we can look at last years playoffs. Duren in 110 minutes with Ausar on the court was +6.7. In 94 minutes without Thompson on the court, Duren was -23.4 -
Does anyone know what was the call when Randy Johnson’s pitch hit the bird so the ball veered wide of the catcher and went to the backstop. Was it a deadball/no pitch or a ball/wild pitch?

There are a bunch of articles today about how his slugging pct on pitches over 95 mph is like 16th overall out of 186 hitters with at least 100 plate appearances since the start of 2025. He's slugging .537 on such pitches (prior to 2025 he slugged in the .300's on 95+ mph) -

Lots of first round talent still available at Best Need Available (BNA): - Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee - Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee - Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, DB, Toledo - Zion Young, EDGE, Missouri - CJ Allen, LB, Georgia would all be home run picks. If they aren't satisfied with Mahogany, they could even go back-to-back OL with one of: - Jake Slaughter, C, Florida - Chase Bisontis, OT/OG, Texas A&M - Gennings Dunker, OT/OG, Iowa - Emmanuel Pregnon, OG, Oregon - Connor Lew, C, Auburn And then there are plenty of solid 2nd round picks there too, enough to justify moving back if those top five are already gone. - Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina - Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson - Treydan Stukes, DB, Arizona - Jalon Kilgore, DB, South Carolina - Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois - TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson - Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State - Keyron Crawford, EDGE, Auburn - Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech - Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas - Kyle Louis, LB, Pitt I'd be surprised if Holmes only picks once tonight. Whether that's moving down from #50 and picking up a mid-3rd or sending both #118 and #128 to move back into the 90s, I think he finds a way to pick up a later pick tonight. Some guys that make sense but probably not with our second pick and probably later than #50 might include: - Keith Abney, CB, Arizona State - Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas - Domani Jackson, CB, Alabama - Will Lee III, CB, Texas A&M - Kamari Ramsey, DB, USC - LT Overton, DT/DE, Alabama - Joshua Josephs, EDGE, Tennessee - Anthony Lucas, EDGE, USC - Jalen Farmer, OG, Kentucky - Billy Schrauth, OG, Notre Dame - Anez Cooper, OG, Miami - Drew Shelton, OL, Penn State - Isaiah World, OT, Oregon - Deonte Lawson, LB, Alabama - Nick Singleton, RB, Penn State - Mike Washington, RB, Arkansas - Sam Roush, TE, Stanford - Oscar Delp, TE, Georgia -
