  1. Past hour
  2. I am out of thanks for the day but THANK YOU.
  3. Do you not think this particular Court could parse the D state redistrictings and kill them off from the R state redistrictings and uphold only those? I'm not predicting they're going to do that for sure, but I will say I think they could totally do that, especially on then shadow docket, which doesn't even require shared reasoning, never mind constitutional consistency.
  4. I would guess statisticians give Hinch suggestions for line-ups or match-ups based on data. Hinch probably considers them, but makes adjustments based on things that don't necessarily show up in statistics. I don't really know, but that would seem to be the ideal way.
  5. Out of likes today but LIKE
  6. Man, the IRGC is killing it on social. Eight words I could never have imagined typing out in that exact order.
  7. His keyboard to God's phone.
  8. It's one thing to use this trope for political advantage with their rube base, and they may win a battle here and there by cynically employing it. But when they themselves believe it—IOW, when they're getting high on their own supply—they can't win the war.
  9. Piece by Ben Rhodes (Obama admim alum) about Platner in the Times today. FWIW, he does not think Platner is a Nazi candidate - he thinks he's an anti-war, anti-military-industrial complex candidate.
  10. Did you have your subordinate double down on it for you or did you correct your mistake? How did you make that mistake, by the way, i can see someone going in the opposite direction and mistakenly calling it a 5,900% decrease.
  11. MAGA math.
  12. So "best hitter" could change from game to game, depending on the matchup? And managers have a secret formula that no fan knows about that determines his line-up? Uhhh...ohhhh kayyy...alternate universe calling. 🤣🤣
  13. True as this may be, Democrats also can't unilaterally disarm and allow themselves to get run over by an explicitly immoral and unethical opponent. Not a good place to be in as a country, but, here we are.
  14. Most people don't understand the formula! But yeah, there are other considerations besides an alglorithm and Hinch is not going to tell you what they are.
  15. I guess I don't understand somebody else's opinion of "best hitter." Last season, when Javy was on an offensive tear (red hot) a reporter asked Hinch if he was thinking of moving him up in the order. Hinch just smiled and turned the question around on the reporter by asking him "would you move him up?" With the implication that it would change Javy's approach batting in a different spot. So yeah, at different times, different hitters could be considered a teams "best hitter." If Torres is struggling, I guess the point is to move him down in the order? Or if he struggles against a certain pitcher and you have a hitter who crushes the same pitcher, move them around? I guess I just dont understand the formula used to have a player considered your "best" hitter.
  16. Really, almost a must-win. If the Pistons don't win tonight, visions of never winning a playoff series (and a home playoff game) in what seems like forever will be the narrative and this team isn't going to win four games in five left with three being on the road. It also would mean they've done nothing to change solving the puzzle Orlando created in game #1. Orlando did a lot of the things I'm guessing a lot of us worried would happen in the playoffs and they won easily. There's no reason for them to think they can't win three more doing the same thing. Duren isn't suddenly start roaming to hit 15-footers. It's hard to have spacing when you don't have legit perimeter shooters and the guy that is supposedly your section option can't even spread the floor to 12 feet beyond the bucket. There is no one on this team that is going to scare you into making a defense taking your perimeter game seriously. Put an arc 12 feet from the rim and it'll look like a rush hour traffic jam in a construction zone on an expressway the rest of this series. Really, unless the Pistons suddenly can hit from 40% with a few options consistently from outside, life isn't going to get any easier. And even if the Pistons did that for a game, Orlando or no other potential future opponent is going to change what they do defensively because of one game. They'll challenge Detroit to do it a second, a third and a fourth time and take their chances. I'm not as hard core about Thompson thing as a lot of you from game one. I love to see him out there for his defense. And, yes, this team needs that presence. However, he presents nothing to the team offensively and him being out there isn't going to help what this team's dire problem is right now - getting sort of offense that makes life tougher for the opponent on defense. Unless the Pistons get on the break more reliably due to him being on the floor, he also creates some headaches on the other side of the floor. Could he have played more? Of course. I would've liked to see him play more. But it's not like this magic potion that if he plays another 10 minutes in that game the Pistons suddenly win. And it's quite possible if he played another 10 minutes nothing changes, and the offense could've struggled even more.
  17. Look under the hood...low k rate, 97 % strand rate, low BABIP, he's due to get destroyed.
  18. Today
  19. I have accidentally made that math error I a spreadsheet before. Gotta watch that...
  20. Feels like the Brew Crew have a lineup full of McGonigle’s. Contact hitters that create havoc on the basepaths. Clark is coming, but we need to develop a few more of those to have sustainable success.
  21. Do it. Experiences = Memories. My kids got a kick out it back in the day.
  22. No idea but I hope his nickname is Doctor or something similar for the time it took
  23. Truer words were never spoken and it's hard to accept when you have a 1-2 punch of Skubal and Framber, a rookie meeting all the high expectations and 3 "closers". Unfortunately the rest of the team is made up of players with "potential" and good skills but also each lacking one key component to their game. Sort of like the island of misfit toys - endearing but still flawed. And then there is Cleveland consistent as ever..GRRRRR.
