Yes, you would like to think that.

Brieske makes the same in the majors as the minors. Adding Outman adds his prorated $797,500 projected the rest of the way, a bit over $435,000. Hanifee making $795,500 in the bigs, $331,218 in the minors. So going down lowers the bill a bit. I don't know what Waguespack's making. I'm guessing $850,000, just copying what Short is making. Short gets paid his MLB rate while in DFA limbo. If he clears waivers and gets outrighted, he would get prorated $180,000 the rest of the way. If he opts out, the Tigers are off the hook. ... How the sausage is made. I'll put an updated number up after Mize/Skubal return and Short's DFA limbo ends.

Jones apparently has pix.
-
Could have kept using him in CF if Colt is going to get more time at 3b.
-
At 30 years old I would like to think that not only is he in his prime, but he has a solid 3-5 years left in it.
-
These on the Tiger MLB transaction page now.
-
Yeah, I don't get that. He's hitting as well as Jones , but much better defensively at a position where a late inning replacement is needed. I know they're not worried about Short being claimed, but I don't think they had to worry about Jones either -if he was, no great loss.

It's official.

33K in NYC must have been living the good life. No waiting in line for a latte.

Looks like Short, surprisingly -
He still should have signed him then at least he would have done something.

2026 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD

Not official but ESPNs roster has these roster moves showing on the 40 man Zack Short off the 40 man James Outman on active roster Jacob Waguespack on the active roster Beau Brieske demoted Kenley Jansen activated from DL Brennan Hanifee demoted I guess we are either getting a healthy dose of McKinstry at SS or Keith at 3B then. Assuming we will hang onto Outman and Waguespack for a bit and then see if we can’t pass them through waivers to keep them in the system. Still gotta demote two more by this weekend for Skubal and Mize. Maybe DeJesus and Sommers? -
It's too bad Harris failed at finding a defensive replacement SS that could hit.

I'll go this far...in today's environment, you don't see top 5 picks move and you don't see 1C's on a relatively cheap 5 year deal move often enough to easily gangue the market for either
-
Value of a top pick depends on whether you are the Rangers....
-
And I would counter you saying that I think you are drastically undervaluing the second overall pick in the draft. We obviously don't agree on this stuff but to frame it as we're just trying to give Larkin away is disingenuous.

The wife was watching the live stream of them taking down his name from the Kennedy Center and they had to stop because of an incoming lightning storm. You know the god botherers are going to say it was divine will.
-
You guys hate Larkin more than the rest of the league...Good players do not become available often...top 25 guys in the league almost never do. Larkin is a proven veteran with a lot of mileage left...he's very highly regarded with the USA hockey program, as evidenced by his spot on the Four Nations and Olympic teams. Why some of you want to sell him for peanuts is beyond me.

lol, I’ll say it! Thisnis the classic college football argument about talent vs resume. Yes, whoever makes it there will have the visit beat some good teams. But as you said, it’s the single elimination randomness that gets cracked up by adding an extra round. I’m also not sure that the third place teams that get through will necessarily be good. By your argument the fact they could t finish top two must mean they suck 😉 But what I mean is that third place teams are going to be those teams in groups that have a terrible fourth team that goes 0-0-3. You’ve got to some get points ts but not finish in the top two, so it feels like you are going to have the classic third place team that went 1-1-1 and would have been out on GD that gets through. We’ll see, but the fact we are basically taking the prior World Cup field of 32 and effectively putting them straight into the knockout is bound to cause more early exits for the blue bloods.

So Donald Trump destroys the economy with his inept handling of covid which caused inflation to go out of control. Joe Biden takes office and starts to lower inflation and enacts several programs to help typical Americans. MAGA proceeds to blame Biden for the high inflation and re-elect Donald Trump, who proceeds to go back on every campaign promises he made, as well as giving tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, leaving typical Americans out in the cold. Within 18 months of Trump taking office, inflation again is out of control. The MAGA crowd is mostly silent but when asked about inflation, they still blame Joe Biden. <just getting a start on history books of the future>
