  2. May we never see .500 or under .500 again this season. I knew the White Sox would be better, but not this much better.
  3. That's crappy. It ought to be a DQ when a team brings an illegal bat.
  4. Correction...2-2 against them. The 1st one I counted was an exhibition game.
  5. our first round goalie who cant eve start in the AHL playoffs? who has been beaten out by an undrafted free agent? THAT first round pick? the moral of the story is not "why is our GM not playing our first round goalie," but rather "why is our GM trading up in the first round FOR A GOALIE?"
  6. Sparky Anderson after Brogna was traded:"He's got a chance to be a good one some day, but I didn't want to wait to find out".
  7. I've been using Fedora for more than 15 yrs. It's the opposite of an LTS, releases come 2'ce/yr and updates every day. But Linux updates so painlessly, even the full release updates take less than maybe 1/2 hr. TBH, I probably still wouldn't advise someone to use linux if they are not open to learning how to maintain it. It's not particularly hard but you have be willing to do a searching when you have an issue and a little typing to fix it. OTOH, when stuff is broke, linux developers fix it FAST - usually a day or two.
  8. brandon ingram joing franz and kevin durant in the "too sore to play in big games, 2026 edition."
  9. And the Rays have been lucky with a run differential just +7. The Tigers are +18.
  10. Yep. If you’re at home and think you’re the better team, you can’t let it come down to a bad break, bounce or call.
  11. Pistons were 2-3 against Cleveland this season?
  12. Did I get this right? From behind the net he hits the puck out of the air backhanded, it bounces behind the goaltender, into his rear end, and back into the goal?
  13. Unless there's a miracle comeback, its gonna be Cleveland at Detroit. Toronto was playing them close until the 3rd, when it seemed like they kept taking, and missing, 3 pointers.
  14. Only 5 of the AL teams are at .500 or above and only NY and the Rays are playing at high levels.
  15. Kevin has good field vision, too, because he went when he saw the shortstop abandon second and also saw the second baseman was nowhere near the base.
  16. We’re closing in on the Magic 40-Game benchmark…
  17. They used to use what were called red-dot balls, which were flight restricted balls that you could tell had a bit of give when you held it. Nowadays, softballs are as hard as hard balls. Plus, I know some guys are using BSER bats even tough they’ve been outlawed for over a decade, but most umpires are as clueless about that as they are about the throw-out-of-bounds rule. I don’t like it, but what am I gonna do? Quit? As if.
  18. franz missing the key games of the series is very franz. when the going go tough, franz got a calf strain.

  20. That play where McGonigle went to 2nd base (and ended up scoring) on that throw to 3rd base was a heads up, veteran type-like play. He plays way above his experience and age. Amazing.
  21. If you go this rout, make sure to get the more stable LTS release as opposed to the newer one. I made that mistake, and have since changed to Linux Mint, which is another solid choice for those looking to ditch MS.
  22. I play left field at Brands Park where there is a tennis court maybe about 275 feet away from the plate. In the mid 2000s, I never once saw a ball get hit into the courts. Nowadays, there’s at least one a game. It’s beyond ridiculous. But CSSC encourages it because it keeps teams signing up and paying their $1,400 team fee to keep playing. What can you say? It’s a business.
  23. Oh, now you tell me. I was shocked to see softballs clearing the 300 feet fences. I didn’t know about two piece bats. But, if I don’t get back into it now, it’ll be tougher next year.
