We come If you come in from the West, I like to take 94 to Livernois, South down to Mich Ave, East to Cass turn north, cross Grand River and all the lots on the West side of Woodward are right there. Also an easy exit going back the same way as you stay out of the ramp traffic near the stadium. Haven't been down this year yet but I think those also were $20-30 as of last season.

I'm not sure what you mean, that Gibson might not be good next season? Obviously that's always a risk with goalies, he's probably still easier to predict than two rookies. My point in mentioning he was good this year is that some might want to hope for that again but I immediately said I want to trade him. My point in mentioning the Habs goalies was that it can work in your favor, not saying it is guaranteed though. I'm struggling to parse out your point I guess lol Edit: Oh god I think I'm being big dumb and you mean what the rookies would show next season wouldn't predict the future maybe? I'm overtired! If so then I'm not sure anyone would argue that goalies are stable season to season, still gives you more informed info than not playing them in the NHL I would imagine? Maybe I need to eat some lunch to jog my brain haha

Tony Brothers is the crew chief tonight. Pistons are 4-3 this season in games Brothers has reffed. -
NHL goalie is so random that it’s almost impossible to predict future success. Other than a few exceptions, there’s very little rhyme or reason to it. Even a season or two in the league whether good or bad doesn’t mean that much in what a most guys do from one season to the next.

Interesting site with a bunch of draft info. The mock is a bit goofy with Boozer going #1. But there are a lot of metrics, stats, measurements, etc. https://draftballr.com/

We always have hopes for any player we see, even Gage Workman. When it comes to some level of expectation, I think of Max Clark as a universally-regarded position-player top prospect with no history of injuries, so I do expect positive contribution out of him. Is that a guarantee? No, but I don’t think it’s a crapshoot, either. I think the chances we get something out of Max are far higher than the chances we get nothing out of him. Will he be an 8-win superstar? That’s rare, but it’s within a reasonable range of outcomes for him specifically. A 5-win All-Star? I think that’s fairly probable at some point, if not perennially. Will he be a consistent 2-win everyday guy? I think he should be at least that, although I’d be disappointed if that’s where he topped out. Will he be a complete sub-replacement bust? I think the chances of that are very low, and I would be shocked if stayed healthy, played as hard as he could and up to his capabilities, and he were to crap out like that. I think something dramatic would have to happen, like a terrible freak injury, a series of Parker Meadows injuries, or even a serious diagnosed illness, for us to get nothing out of him. That pretty much sums up how I view Max Clark, which is very different from how I view Reese Olsen or Jackson Jobe. -
I know he was good last year, but if it were me I'd try to trade Gibson with some salary retention and run with Cossa and Postava. It is risky but it can pay off. Habs are running Dobes and Fowler in the playoffs, might as well see what we got. I do think Cossa still has decent trade value if that's the route they go.

I am the same. Fortunately, until Cleveland can win a road game in the playoffs, they are the decided underdog to win this series. -

Who starts if Robinson can't go tonight? I would say LeVert, but he is also listed as questionable. Probably Jenkins. -
Doesn't it seem like Mize usually has a pretty short leash? If Hinch is gonna pull him after 5 innings anyway, they may as well be innings here. I wish Flaherty had a short leash, or removed from the starting rotation. Try Drew Anderson....could it really be much worse? 🤫🤫

All in all, a pretty accurate roster assessment. I'm patient and I always wish for the best for these guys, but the truth reveals itself over time - hard ceiling on a lot of the guys. I know this is a bad stretch, and a lot of team go thru this, but many of the shortcomings are recurring themes. Oh, they might have some good stretches, but this is a limited bunch. -

Come on now guys, we don't want to hurt his feelings. We have to make sure he keeps his confidence. -
I think Charlie Morton is still available.

Welp- we missed.

There's speculation (conspiracy theory maybe) that the reason Duren has an infinitely long leash is that his contract has already been worked out. They already had talks and committed to maxing him, so they have to force this and treat him like a max player. Contrast that with Ausar who can sneeze wrong in one game and get benched no matter how many times he saves this team while Duren can play 11 bad games in a row and not lose his playing time. -
I am still not sure it is true, but it does raise the same question about Postava. One of them will be the full-time backup in Detroit next year. If Stevie can’t send the other one down and this ends up forcing his hand on a trade, so be it. They will get good value and will still have a strong pipeline in net.

The more I actually sit and think about it, the more I’m a lot more understanding of Chris Illitch. He’s shown that he will spend—although it’s not as often as we want him to as fans….but look at it from the other side. Could he spend half a billion to lock up Skubal for the next 8-10 years? Sure….but the outlook on the team/org as a whole doesn’t support that. We have 2 guys on our offense that are complete players: McGonigle and Dingler. Maybe you could throw Torres in there if he can get fully healthy. Tork- occasional HR power in between looking lost and overmatched at the plate. Gets hot for a short stretch every 5-6 weeks to make it seem like he’s turned a corner when he really hasn’t. Riley- Best overall offensively weapon, but an absolute wet noodle of an arm. Is 25 and always needs days off in the field. Doesn’t run well for some reason. Carpenter- Sells out for power, doesn’t walk enough and can’t hit lefties much at all Keith- Borderline unplayable on defense at any position. Power has regressed sharply. Javy- Still swings at the low and away slider most of the time. Doesn’t walk, doesn’t hit for much power anymore. Meadows- Hasn’t shown he can hit with any consistency and can’t stay healthy—even though that’s not currently his fault this time, it still matters. Vierling- A 4th outfielder on a good team Jones- Can only hit lefties (allegedly) and is unplayable on defense McKinstry- Should be the 26th man on a good team, but we start him all the time because of platoon and defensive deficiencies with other players Rogers- Can’t hit. Perez- Below average defensively—and only really plays RF. Very inconsistent offensively. Then you’ve got the pitchers: Mize, Olson, SGL can’t make it half a season without ending up on the DL for extensive stints. Melton hopefully will come back strong, but it’s an unknown until then. Jobe is a complete unknown as far as what he will be when he’s back. Flaherty is completely washed. Framber was an excellent signing, but hasn’t paid off much at all to this point—and we have all of the pressure of carrying the pitching staff on him now. Keider Montero is one of the only players in the entire organization who is actually meeting and exceeding expectations. Vest, Holton, Hurter, Finnegan are all solid but unspectacular bullpen pieces Hanifee, Anderson, and Brieske are all inconsistent at best Jansen is at the finish line of his career and it’s showing and all the other arms shouldn’t arent good enough to be on major league rosters for any length of time or used in any important situations. Whats there to invest 400-500 million on for one or two players when that’s clearly not going to put us over the top until we clear the organization out from all the one-dimensional every day players? -

I can’t blame the front office or on field staff for the injuries this year and frankly that is why they are under performing. Injuries are part of the game and you either have good or bad luck in that department. Didn’t love every signing absolutely not. I hated the Anderson signing and wish that money would have been put toward true bullpen help. Now I do think they need to look at their training staff and offseason programs and try to figure out if changes need to be made to them to give the team the best chance at having luck go their way with injuries. -
I would hope he'd confirm that so I guess that's settled! It will be interesting to see what happens. Crazy that a difference of a month and half made him not get the extra season.
-
I’ll take it one further and say this is what happens when you elect the greatest con man who ever lived and let him run the biggest grift he’s ever done.
-
But mah Israel!

Oh boo hoo about Israel. The goddamn President is issuing himself checks from the treasury.

The Ilitch family has a track record of being loyal to a fault with their front office personnel. But if Tigers fans turn on Harris and Chris, that could be a turning point. This mess is on Harris, not AJ. He could be on a short leash. -
Wonder if I was parked in there that night with you. We had no idea why we couldn't get out, but it took forever and then it was fine, cars finally began moving and we drove up and all traffic was gone. Ever run into an issue where you have an issue getting to a lot that you grabbed a spot via the ParkWhiz app? That's been part of my hesitancy with it, that i'll pick a spot, be happy with the price and it'll end up where traffic is stupid or construction pushes everyone to one area that I have to go to for that spot. Whereas without it, if something like that is happening I could just go around and try to find an open lot a little further away and just enjoy the walk.
