  1. He's done his own research and determined there is no risk.

  2. Trump treated COVID as a PR problem instead of a public health crisis. No one blames him for the creation of the virus. Just by memory, some of the things he did that made it worse were downplaying the seriousness at the outset, claiming it was a hoax, saying it would go away like a miracle, claiming it would be gone by easter, comparing it to the flu and calling it kung flu, hosting super spreader events like his Tulsa rally and supreme court confirmation with disregard for protocols, resisting wearing a mask and mandates, resisting testing because it would add more cases, publicly questioning the CDC and Fauci and attacking their credibility, promoting unproven cures he got from a pillow salesman, attacking blue states and governors by withholding assistance and calling on his minions to liberate them, and blaming Obama for the pandemic because he gutted Obama's pandemic response team.

  4. When the Trump administration arrived in 2017 there was a task force with virus epidemic systems spelled out. A playbook on how to deal with the type of situation that happened a few years later. The Trump folks tossed it out-like so many things they trashed purely because it as a product of the Obama people. That was bad enough, but as others have mentioned, the focus during Trump’s time in office was keeping the stock market high, not containing the virus spread. Yes, the vaccines were developed quickly by scientists, but at the same time Trump himself was saying really stupid shit about bleach and hydroxycloroquine and bright lights. Always downplaying the dangers- We’ll be done by Easter, or we’ll be rockin’ by July. Biden has made mistakes, but he has been in the position of cleaning up a massive mess that Trump made worse in many ways. The vax skepticism has cost tens of thousands or more lives in the US and Trump failed miserably in terms of advocating for it. He strives on creating chaos and could have used his influence in a positive way. He did the opposite.

  5. I seem to recall a lot of people felt Aaron Rodgers was the next Joey Harrington which was why he slid down the draft board. Point is, the Packers took a risk and drafted a QB when they had an established hall of famer on the roster.

  6. Like they can't get a really good player at #2............in a year when there is no clear #1. The win was more important than that, actually.

  7. There's a very good chance Jacksonville takes Evan Neal who the Lions likely have no interest in.

  8. You are right. He didn't call it a hoax. He said something to the effect that Democrat's ctitique of his management of the pandemic was a hoax. He was rambling to his fans and wanted to use the word hoax because his people love it when he uses that word. So, he just threw it in there nonsensically, because he's an idiot.

  9. The Lions got the 2nd pick and drafted Calvin Johnson. I'll take that.

  10. I think a lot of positive things that happen in the country are due to the "deep state". The government is our largest employer. Just like any large organization, there are many good employees and some bad employees. The people at the top get all the credit, but it's usually some unknown people that do most of the work.

  11. Hip Hop songs in commercials are like a migraine to my ears. No melody. Just that one note, monotone blathering.

  12. If they want to prevent tension with academics, then just hire the athletes as staff. If they are being paid they are pros, so that's were this is all going anyway. At some point the duck rule needs to be applied.

  13. In the months that really, really mattered, Donald Trump was spending every minute trying to steal an election. If he would have spent that time setting up national standards for testing and vaccine distribution, we may have been better off. We'll never know because his corruption was so deeply rooted, it was not going to change. A total dereliction of duty.

  14. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/09/16/913560563/cdc-director-says-covid-vaccine-likely-wont-be-widely-available-until-next-year In terms of why Trump doesnt get more credit, as well as some of the distrust sewed during his administration, I do think the article above details comments that have been sort of memory holed over time. Specifically tying vaccine distribution to the election (contradicting his own CDC Director) was a serious mistake made by Trump. For whatever reason, people just seem to gloss over it and forget about it.

  17. On top of that we had people from the CDC who worked in Wuhan for this very purpose. Trump got rid of them because “I don’t like to pay people who aren’t doing anything”. He literally threw out the smoke detector because it was just sitting there not detecting smoke.
