Spoiler: They are going to get a bunch of guys most of us have never heard of before. We'll look up their stats and ranks and not be impressed. The prospect hounds will pump up one of the players and we'll feel better. That guy will not develop into anything, but one of the others will turn out to be pretty good.2 points

He gets way too big of a pass for the 2009 incident. Both from the beating his wife standpoint and from the getting blackout drunk the last weekend of the year with the division on the line standpoint. Inexcusable on all ends.2 points

Depends. In a park with long fences, those homers might be outs. HR/FB is seen by many as a luck stat. In the meantime, the things he can control, mainly strikeouts and balls, he killed. So different people may take away different conclusions.2 points

I heard reports that the lawyer that walked in with him is a known Trump-affiliated lawyer who has previously been turned away for another client, again, because he has no standing in FL. So, not a coincidence. I think the Trump team just needed/wanted more time to talk to this guy to make sure he doesn’t flip, even though we all know he’ll go to jail if he doesn’t.1 point

I take everything Morosi says with a grain of salt, but this is right. And probably explains why it's taking a little more time to develop. If it's 2 PM CDT tomorrow and nothing has happened, maybe then I'll start asking questions.1 point

I really hope they aren't making decisions on "buying or selling" next year now. I wouldn't put much stock in this. I'm sure up until a month ago, the Mets weren't planning on "selling." If you fall out of contention, you sell so you can recoup value for your roster. This depends entirely on how the season goes.1 point

I think you also have to blame Dombrowski some …. The player development was improved by Al so what was it like under Dave? Dave was just better at getting good players1 point

If ever there comes a time when the Tigers have too many pitching prospects, they can surely find some trade partners to help them out. Same goes for position players. The focus right now should simply be to get the best package of talent in return of impending free agents before the trade deadline. Now, there can be debate about quality versus quantity, I think that's fair. But I wouldn't be too worried about pitcher or position player right now.1 point

You are not alone. When it's all done, I will look back at him as one of the all time great Tigers but year after year of replacement level perfomance at the end end of his career while fans and media pretend that he still has something left got tiring a long time ago.1 point

That may have had something to do with it but I think in general Campbell and the LIons are more analytic based and the analytics usually side with going for it on 4th down and short inside the 40 regardless of who your kicker is.1 point

If getting one thing wrong is enough to discredit somebody, I can play that game with literally anybody on the antivax side. Joe Rogan, 5/14/21 claimed the COVID vaccine has microchips. https://www.mediamatters.org/joe-rogan-experience/spotifys-joe-rogan-falsely-claims-actual-microchips-are-being-injected-your Any time Robert Malone claims to be the inventor of mRNA vaccine technology, he is lying or exaggerating. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/01/11/tucker-carlson-spreads-an-already-debunked-claim-about-covid-deaths/1 point

“Our data suggests”. Science is not a static thing. I seriously think that there was no intent to mis-characterize what was happening with the virus. What would be the purpose of that???? The data AT THAT TIME … suggested…that vaccinated people didn’t carry the virus. But the message always was that you had a much better chance at NOT ending up in a life-ending situation in a hospital intubated with diminished hope of ever leaving that room. I’m not understanding why we are looking to demonize and criminalize scientists. I honestly don’t understand this.1 point
