  4. I grew up about 60-75 minutes from Tiger Stadium depending on bridge and rush hour traffic, so a perfect summer night when 17 would be to listen to the first two innings of game 1 at home while eating a pre-game meal, have Ernie & Paul's broadcast of innings 3-7 accompany me on my drive, get into my seats for the 8th and 9th innings of Game 1, head to the concessions between games, then relax and enjoy game 2 in full.

  5. This is awesome! Well done Orioles and Topps! BTW I wonder how many of the infamous Billy Ripken cards he has?

  6. This isn't an argument its the emotions of being a Detroit fan. Detroit vs. Everybody.

  7. If I'm Ohtani and I truly care about making the playoffs and competing for a WS then there is no way I'm staying with the Angels. He's put up two back to back all time seasons and they still aren't really even close, yes they missed Trout this year but they also got a ton of production from other guys namely Moniak that aren't necessarily sure things going forward.

  9. Oh - we've had enough roster crunches. The problem is that the typical Tiger roster crunch has been 4 guys who are all equally mediocre vying for 2 jobs.

  10. Remember that time they took all pitchers in the draft?

  11. Imagine having Mike Trout for over a decade and Ohtani for 6 years both on team friendly deals and still not beable to sniff the playoffs. Oh yeah AND they play in the 2nd biggest market in baseball too. Such a patheticly run organization.

  12. You wanna play a little baseball? It's such a great scene. Comes out of nowhere and Alfred Molina steals the movie in 10 minutes.

  13. I agree. They could have kept the name, made this guy the new mascot.

  14. Lynn has been shopping Skubal from his armchair for a long time lol

  15. Lynn's big suggestion for the future is to trade Skubal, because so many teams win WS without staff aces.

  16. My love/hate relationship with SGs took a huge twist recently. I love they way they look and I’ve had a few that the necks were just right but something didn’t click. I’ve owned around five of them and I’ve loved them….until I didn’t. i had this pair last year and traded one and sold the other. The one on the right came back to me in a trade. It’s so loud acoustically and fits me perfectly. Within a day I knew I had to sell it because I didn’t want to replace the pickups, (which were hot garbage) and take away it being in original condition (especially because the boutique pickups I like are around $300 for the set). So up for sale it went until I got the bright idea to replace the magnets. I put an Alnico 2 in the bridge and an alnico 5 in the neck. It’s a brand new guitar now and I can’t put it down. Apparently my ears hate ceramic magnets.

  17. This one is a CE. I'd say the neck is very thin and flat. It's probably the most shredder neck I've ever owned on a guitar. I'm with you, I've always loved the look of them esp the blue ones. I am very very impressed with how this axe sounds too, but gotta get it into a rehearsal for a good barometer. I've been rocking my gretches almost exclusively for the last year but both of them have weird technical **** going on with them and I was having bad GAS symptoms lol

  18. I wouldn't be opposed to heavily incentive laden contract where we basically pay him league minimum plus big performance bonuses. But don't give him a bunch of money or a long term contract.

  19. Beautiful. Nothing wrong with a blue guitar ever.

  21. To me when I brought up the bust tag it was more just a feeling than based on substance. I mean basically everything has gone wrong since he got here. First off just drafting a WR rehabbing from a major injury is risky in itself but we did it. Then when he returned he didn't really produce, his one breakout play on prime time against the Packers of course ended up being called a penalty so it was erased. Then he gets hit with the whole gambling thing but the silver lining was atleast he was gonna be able to get reps in preseason and practice but of course he drops a big pass in his preseason opener and then gets injured nullifying the silver lining of getting preseason reps. Its just like everything that could go wrong has and that's why I get the "feeling" that things just aren't going to work out.

  25. I have to tell this story because I think some of you "musicians" will get a kick out of it. First, I must disclose, I have the musical talent of a brick. But I tried (piano, guitar, drums) and it didn't matter. So be it. I do have a few close buddies who play in bands and have done so for a long time. Enjoyed them around here when they do their thing - good for all involved. The funny part is one of the drummers I know... I know 3 drummers, probably 6 guitar guys, a few singers, along with an organ and harmonica player (harmonica guy nails "what I love about you" by the Romantics) as did the rest. Dance floor full. Fun stuff. Anyway, the one drummer guy was told at some point he was "only" a drummer and not a real musician. That never sat to well with him, so it is never allowed in the conversation. My best buddy in that conversation is also a drummer, and he's doesn't buy it either. Drummers matter IMO, and I have no agency to say that. A band without a drummer usually has canned noise or some form of metronome. That's what the drums are for - drink your beer. Giggle. I've been lucky in a small little town like Cornhole to always have local bands who do a great job. Thank you! I also think the musical talent is a gift. Some have it, some don't, and you can't teach it. For those who can - good for you, and thanks. Of course, that's coming from a brick.

  26. Disclaimer...I am not a guitar guy. That said, I thought this was pretty cool. My daughter has been making noise about wanting a guitar for quite some time. Tonight we were over at a family friend's house and "Uncle" Adam is the owner of eight guitars and had been discussing his most recent purchase and his need to get rid of a couple older ones. My daughter randomly came upstairs and started talking about her desire to get a guitar....then "Uncle" Adam appears from the back room with a guitar and offers it to her as her first....it was his first that he bought when he was 15 years old. Such a cool, cool moment. My nine-year old daughter was speechless, sat down and started her best strumming, then hugged her "Uncle"....amazing.
