  1. I get what you're saying but honestly the senate really sucks and doesn't deserve a whole ton of respect.

  3. Why does Elon assume the people that run propaganda bots aren't willing to invest $ in their activity? Will small fees stop state sponsored Russian disinformation efforts? I doubt it, they are already investing big money in the hardware and manpower behind these programs, why would a few more bucks stop them?

  4. It looked like it bent backwards like the Willis McGahee injury years ago at Miami. It bent backwards it looked like.

  6. Funny you mention him. I was at the Mud Hen game on Sunday. As we were walking by the former strip joint that’s now a pizza place (or is that just a front?) on the RF corner, some guy that sorta looked like him was standing in the doorway and stared me down as I walked by. I just so happened to be wearing my old English C hat. You don’t think that he recognized me from this place, do you?

  7. I am not worried about Covid at this point. The only reason I plan on getting a shot is because I teach and I don't want to have to stay home one day and do a zoom class. So, if I can avoid some cold-like symptoms, it will be good.

  8. I'm looking at it pretty much as having passed into the same category as the flu. It's always going to be around, it will keep morphing marginally as time goes by, I'm not particularly worried about getting it (have had mild cases at least once, possibly twice ) so at this point have both natural and vax based immune response. But if a 10 sec shot saves me even two days of sniffles and a cough, I'm not passing up that trade.

  9. Sounds like a job for Adduci. He knows people. What percentage of that 98 million saved can they offer him?

  10. If someone could lure him into masturbating on a Zoom call, could the Tigers get out of the $98mm contract?

  11. For what it is worth, Wallstedt played one game in the Wild's prospect tournament and gave up 4 goals on 25 shots for a beastly .840 save percentage this past weekend.

  12. They are signifying that Mexico is ready to go full-on-throttle Fascist. It's why Russia and China only marched along with Mexican troops in their parade. Nothing more. Nothing less.

  16. There is some simple formula that -- perhaps defined by some future or past Nobel Prize winner -- that the degree to which an institution affords power to an individual -- while lacking accountability via transparency equals risk of sexual abuse.

  20. In 2006 I sold my game 2 tickets to help defray the cost. In 2012 I sold game 3 for the same reason. So obviously hard to compare because in 2006 nothing bad had happened yet so we were all jacked up. When I went in ‘12 they were down 0-3. before the game we stopped at a local bar. Had drinks with Giants fans who as soon as their team won game 3 they saw the ticket prices plummet so they bought them and were able to get cheap flights. Nice people. Sitting next to us at the game was an older lady by herself, a Giants fan, who had a well worn book she used to keep score. I think she was afraid to cheer but when it got to two outs in the 9th I encouraged her to cheer. It was ok. We won’t bite. Definitely a different vibe in that game. The odds of coming back are not zero but close. If they won it would cost me $190 more plus parking and all that. Root for them or just get it over with another reason I hate digital only tickets. I have mementos from 2006, 2009, 2011-14. It became a yearly ritual to go to FedEx to pick up our playoff tickets. There were actually lines to do it.

  21. There was really no question about how Greene's bat would play at a corner. He was a top 5 pick when nobody was really expecting him to be anything more than a passable defender in a corner spot. His bat was always projected to play anywhere. And Clark certainly fits the mold of a two way player, though he's still got a ways to go.

  23. I've debated jumping into the fray of the clock management conversation or not. My initial reaction was actually not to roast or even criticize Campbell for it at the end of the game. As a fan, I've often let my emotions and frustrations cloud my opinion making during and immediately after the game. So I've sat around and thought about this since yesterday. I can't help but feel letdown by Campbell being such an aggressive coach, only to get conservative and play for overtime when it mattered most. Campbell had 3 timeouts remaining in the final 1:20 or whatever it was. His play calling and decision making there showed he was playing for OT. By letting 30 seconds run off the clock before calling a play, not using a timeout to save time, but then using a timeout on the next was poor clock management. Playing for a 50/50 coin toss to get the ball in overtime, as opposed to being your usual aggressive self and playing for the TD and a win, was poor clock management. Don't be aggressive all game long just to get conservative in the end and not play for the TD and the win.

  24. So, Rodriguez is injured. It would be just the Tigers luck for it to be something serious and Eduardo opts in.
