  1. Saw this picture floating around and had to share. I have a buddy who still does freestyle hand lettering with camel hair brushes, iconic.

  3. No person shall ... hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath ... as an officer of the United States ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same ... so, the 14th amendment requires no convictions. Confederates who were booted or barred from fed government did not get a trials where they argued about Northern aggression. any conviction of Trump does not hurt the argument he engaged insurrection or rebellion, but conviction is both 1) not needed under the 14th amendment and 2) not relevant without the 14th amendment.

  4. If they're trying anything it's to blitz him on every pick and roll because they know he and Bogey are all we've got. He's doing what he's doing in the 100th game of his career, coming off a season long injury, with zero help, and constant defensive pressure because they don't have to guard anyone else. Yeah, this season is bad, this owner is bad, this GM is bad, this coach is bad, and this roster is bad...but a developing All-Star in Cade is one of the few things we have going for us. People act like this dude should just walk in and dominate as if he's in his prime in what amounts to his second season in the worst situation you could put him in.

  5. I think it's a big deal. It means the defense doesn't need to be great.

  6. Offensive? After Trump calls every single opponent a made up nickname? Talking about how ugly someone's wife is? Yes, he's offensive. Offensive to the entire country. Or world.

  7. I think it’s a good idea to wait and see how things shake out. As if Mike’s children need any more grist for their mill about overspending on free agents, the name Javier Báez comes to mind. I remember when we got Fielder and thought that the sky would be the limit and it wasn’t. Same thing with Gary Sheffield. Somehow, adding one big name to the roster doesn’t add up to a lot, whereas the synergy of adding a bunch of lesser guys who perform above average does.

  10. I think B is hogwash. I don't think anybody expected Cade to be a LeBron or Luka. Luka-lite is what some billed him as but nobody expected him to be some generational talent that can carry a carcass of a roster to relevancy. Like 95% of the players in the league, Cade needs some help to form a winning team, he needs a robin to run with like Tatum has with Brown or Booker had with CP3 in his early years or SGA has with Williams, Dort, Chet, Banchero with Wagner (who is really underrated) etc. You know what Cade gets? Hayes who should be nowhere near a starting lineup, a rookie Ausar who can't shoot worth a damn, Stewart who should be nowhere near a starting lineup and Duren who is a putback/lob center at this point in his career and is very green still. He's had Bogey in recent games but he's like the anti-Ausar, good scorer but can't play a lick of defense. I'm sorry but who outside of the very elite players can carry that team to anything more than a few wins. Granted, the 23 game losing streak doesn't look great on Cade as one of the leaders but he's in this fight alone essentially.

  11. I take this quote by Staley as basically the Lions wanted him to toughen up. "So this offseason, Staley gave Swift a challenge: “Hey man, you’ve got to fight through some things.” The objective is clear. Staley needs Swift to stay as healthy as possible, but he can’t back down when the relatively minor bumps and bruises come. “We all know there’s a difference in being injured and hurt,” Staley explained. “As soon as you step in this building as a running back—Day 1 of training camp—you’re not going to feel the same. So there are going to be some things he’s going to have to fight through, and he’s going to have to work through that.”

  19. I think we waited a year too long to trade Burks. He has been awful so far this season. Imagine Cade in an offense where the defense has to guard the corner 3. Cade with space is a scary thought.

  20. The Pistons should be all over Markannen yet I don't see the Pistons anywhere on the "interest" list. I guess he shoots too well, or isn't a failed former high pick or a center or a guard/forward that can't shoot so why would they need that guy?
